Dodge police packages
From : max dodge
Q: hopefully their new ones wont spontaneously ignite like the 1980 st regis cruisers did. their wiring harnesses werent heavy enough for the police related equipment. many departments lost cruisers while their emergency lights and radios were operating. anyone here have info on contacting dodge for info and pricing on police package vehicles our local sheriff and police departments are looking to buy new vehicles and would like to at least compare dodge to the quotes they already have. -- max give a man a match and he is warm for a short while. light him on fire and he is warm for the rest of his life. .

i posted this earlier with a picture attached and i didnt realize that it was 600k sorry bout that dial-up folks i took the head off my 97 ram 4x4 360 to look at the #8 cylinder since the plug was discolored and it has a miss. here is a picture of the valves. they are both covered with yellowish-orange deposits. i see no visible cracks and am guessing that the gasket was blown but only slightly. am i barking up the right tree or at least in the right forrest -jerry you can see the picture at http//xs47.xs.to/pics/05380/number8valves.jpg jerrym wrote on close inspection of the picture at high mag i see no sign of a blown head gasket but i do see signs of the intake valve being burnt and causing your problem. the valve color is different because cylinder is running colder from valve problem and nothing more. ----------------- www.thesnoman.com jerry youre referring to the exhaust valve. bryan .

lee wrote my 2004 dakota 4x4 with automatic acts like it is in neutral occasionally when you first start it up and put it into d or r. if you shift back into p and wait a minute it goes into gear when you try it again. the fluid level in the transmission shows full. is this a shifter or transmission problem also mileage sucks at 16mpg on the highway at 70mph. anyone else have this problem thanks lee my ram transmission 47re does that too after its parked for an extended period of time. if i drive it every day there is no problem. if its parked for more than about 3 days i have to idle it in neutral for about 30 seconds before putting it in drive. after doing that it works properly again. i was told its caused by the torque converter draining the fluid back into the transmission while parked. idling in neutral fills the converter again much faster than in park. its a minor inconvenience and not a big problem. it isnt a sign of pending transmission failure. i dont think 16 mpg is abnormal mileage for that vehicle. .

it may not be stupid question time but i gotta ask. i have a 1977 dodge van b200with a 360 engine and the transmission warning light is on even when the fluid level is above the full mark on the dip stick. can there be any other cause than the dip stick is shorted the light does go out if i unplug the connector to the dip stick. .
