Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel fuel injectors

From : tech writer

Q: ram 2500 diesel cummins 5.9l. he tells me he gets 25 mpg with these new robert bosch rv fuel injectors. before he got only 19mpg +/-. he showed me his overhead display for that tank as proof of his claim. if hes going by the overhead hes fooling himself. the 275 rv injectors have a larger opening and deliver more fuel for the same amount of on time as the stock injectors. this develops more power and therefore less on time is needed for the same power output as the stock injectors. the computer has no way of measuring the fuel flow through the injectors - it knows that at a certain rpm and a certain amount of on time will deliver a certain amount of fuel. it uses those assumptions to calculate fuel economy. miles travelled per tank of fuel is the only reliable way to calculate fuel economy and then only if you fill to the same level each time. .

i think you mean even more meaningless right -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys formerly carolina watercraft works ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels as said by tom l if you change the injectors with ones with a different flow rating from the originals the mileage readings from the trip computer are now meaningless. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

am thinking about getting a pickup truck because one son could use some help. he is a stone mason but no drivers license for a while dont ask. i can help him haul stuff. but i am also thinking of using truck to either pull a tt or even mount a truck camper. this would be a second vehicle and will be older not a lot a $$ to spend. i know there are going to be a variety of options but figure the approximately 900 years total experience in the group should give me some ideas. tia lou you are right about one thing. there are allot of old farts with lots of advise. im kinda worried one of them didnt pick up on your problem and email you before you thought of it. remember some of these old farts ideas will stink. if they mention anything other than mopar/dodge products then they obviously donut know what they are talking about. just remember one thing. a. dodge 2. ram iii. heavy duty d. 2500/3500 five. ho turbo d babee. thats all ya need to yank whatever wherever and eat fords up while doing it. you bever will get the damn smile off your face. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .

. chris how ya liking the liberty give me some info please. seems im going to be making a few trips a year to fl. my 05 4x4 cummins is nice but im getting about 14.5 mt at the speed of traffic. sure i can slow it down to 60 but ya stand a good chance of somebody driving over you. kinda playing with the idea of a change but am not sure that the getting is worth the going. if it is only 3mpg than of course it is not. like i said it is just a idea although probably not a good one. then again maybe the liberty might be just the thing for a run around truck for fl or perhaps for the wife up here. roy we love the liberty tara sees 23/24 mpg on her daily driving she drives a lot of highway as her work is in drybranch ga witch is about 30 min away by interstate. she runs it hard too i bet if i drove it and kept it closer to 70 on the interstate you could see closer to the epas claim of 30 highway. it handles pulling the boat fairly nicely for a small truck and have used to to move the tractor when i hurt my left leg and was uncomfortable driving the stick for a few days. so far the only things weve had to do to is 1 fuse cell phone charger shorted and the #3 glow plug shorted and turned the check engine light on. the ride is surprisingly smooth for such a small vehicle. the clack at highway is a touch louder than in the cummins but the turbo wistle is much more subdued so i guess you trade one noise for another. but niether truck is anymore obnoxios than the other at interstate speeds. i still havent had a good oportunity to put the liberty on a trip hoping sometime around the 1st of the year we can go and see the inlaws in ky and put the liberty through the paces. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .
