on 28 dec 2004 040632 gmt max340@aol.compost max340 wrote you just said in your last post that an amperage drop was impossible... now youre talking about a reduction in current. make up your mind... which is it interesting for me being so wrong tom l caught that too. iow this voltage drop at the headlamp is horseshit unless something is drawing down the system elsewhere. a headlamp unless incorrect spec for the voltage system will not draw enough amperage to lower voltage. iow unless the lamp can somehow flow more current than can be supplied at 12v the voltage will never drop. since the lamp depends on resistance to flow in order to light it will not flow enough to lower the voltage in a short time especially if the charging system is in operation. over a few hours with no charging it can happen. maxy you are wrong. the headlamp current impressed across a minimally designed circuit compused of undersized wireand poorly engineered switches can very easily drop 1 volt on low beam. let the connections get a bit old and corroded and 3 volts is not a stretch at all. never thought id be defending mr stern. but likely if you check the voltage youll find its still 12v but not enough amps to flow through the resistance. btw i mentioned testing my fog lamps and finding battery voltage. despite having proper voltage i got no lumens from the lamp. thus it takes more than voltage to illuminate a lamp and more than just a lack of voltage to dim it. the fact that mr. stern recommends larger guage wire proves that he too knows that amperage is needed to light the lamp not just voltage. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

i have recently changed from 5w30 dino oil to 5w20 full synthetic valvolinein my 04 durango ltd. 4x4 hemi and in only 2 tanks of gas i have noticed an increase in mpg of 3.6 !! i havent really changed my driving habits. most miles are put on between sundown and sunrise as i cruise the neighborhood in search of feral bowling balls. because they are so elusive much of this mileage is stop-and-go with significant idle time while unloading my favorite bowling ball blaster the .22-50wtf. i love creating wildcat calibers and after learning so much here about dodge trucks i was just so inspired that i decided to take a .50 cal bmg round neck it down to .22 cal. and make something guaranteed to be deadly to the growing pack of feral bowling balls reported in the area. i originally called it the .22-50bmg but after having those nosey feds from the usgs earthquake center poking around asking questions and hearing comments from my neighbors i decided to rename it wtf cuz thats basically what everybody said. the real problem is that after pouring the oem cylindrical powder back into the necked-down case and filling up all that extra space with some nice military surplus ball powder it sure is hard to keep the nosler 60gr hpbt bullets seated. not to mention the difficulty in setting the headspacing on the barrel when the damn bullets keep popping out of the case neck. but i will persevere! i am already up to 3 spb! thats shots per barrel for all you non-shooters. i figure that my current load is producing 0.2 moa performance but its kinda hard to tell cuz it seems to take about a minute for my eyes to untumble. and the really amazing thing about this round is that it seems to have such high muzzle velocity that it goes right between the atoms of your average hard rubber feral bowling ball. of course its easy to tell that they are d-e-a-d!!! and its likely that word is getting around the local feral bowling ball community as they are getting harder and harder to find. i know they must be afraid. i suppose ill have to go and get one of those thermal bunny suits i learned about here and start stalking them in earnest. and maybe go find a glock rep and buy one of those new .45 sbem plastic guns for backup in case they get organized and counter-attack. anyway i just wanted to thank you all for teaching me so much about dodges. do you think the synthetic oil could really increase my mileage that much your bud jim jim youre dealing with old technology there. the bmg round has already been necked down to .17 cal with amazing results especially when shot from the special edition s&w #500 handgun. just a word of advice dont piss off the easter bunny when you take his thermal suit as its the only one in existence. easter is only a couple of months away and its a well know fact that the bunny holds a helluva grudge. good hunting!! denny yeah aint that the truth! ya drive 700+ miles to pigeon forge tn and you dont even get invited to his daughters wedding! snurf ;^ mike .
