Q: i have a 97 dodge ram 1500 - 318 motor. i rebuilt the engine last summer and i am loosing oil. i just pulled the spark plugs and none of them are black or seem to have any oil in it. i can see no oil leaks and no oil on the ground when parked. if the oil was going out the exhaust pipe wouldnt i see evidence on the plugs anyone got any suggestions check radiator for signs of oil mixed with water. .

it sux that if ordered new the option is only $285.00. oh well... keep in mind that the anti-slip factory option is not positive posi traction. positive traction refers to a locker and limited slip is not the same as a locker. the new power wagon has real lockers anything less is only limited slip and while its a bit better than an open differential its still only limited slip. -- nathan w. collier http//7slotgrille.com http//utilityoffroad.com .

no the 4500 is cast iron as well. i wont be skipping gears all the time. believe it or not there comes a time when some like myself can benefit from the additional gearing...like maybe plowing snow. its a big jump from 1st to 2nd on the 4500. also the larger clutch will benefit on the plowing and with heavy loads. i actually started this to see what sort of input people had as to being able to make it happen....not as a request for nay-sayers to shoot it down because they dont think its worth it. that being said please lets limit the input to positive only on this thread and if you want to post negatives...start a different thread as a courtesy to me and others that may be interested in possibly doing the same conversion. tia. -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. in the battle between money and love money will always triumph i may have to change my signature...... shafts extra gears and such. they are housed in the same casing and use the i coulda sworn the 4500 was an aluminum case and the 5600 was cast-iron... whereas the 4500 is a 5 speed. so...it will indeed add value when coupled to the supercharger and other items i

follow the exhaust pipes from the manifold back and you should be able to readilly spot the o2 sensors screwed into the pipes somewhere along the way usually one or more before the cat converter and one after suddenly without warning fmb exclaimed 4/29/2005 304 pm i have a 2001 dak 4x4 4.7l. it used to get better mileage than it does now - i daresay its topping off at 12 or 14 highway possibly less i havent done an actual measurement when it was getting 19/20 highway when new. thanks for your help! jmc the last time that happened to my older dak it was the o2 sensor. ok im getting back to this a little late... by the look of the part it doesnt seem hard to replace an oxygen sensor though it appears according to the site i was looking at the dak needs two and theyre in the rear somewheres where do i find the 02 sensor on a 2001 dak and how hard is it to replace jmc .
