on dec 12 1209 pm milton jet...@aol.com wrote about a year ago my dodge ram v6 started missing shortly after starting but settled down after a few minutes. now it runs until the engine is hot starts missing and then stalls completely. when it cools it repeats the behavior. have replaced spark wires dist cap and coil to no effect. fuel pump has proper pressure. mechanic i sometimes use has no ideas. any suggestions as to what to look for would be appreciated. many years ago i experienced all these same symptoms in an 82 aries k-car. i had every fuel and ignition related item checked repeatedly with no results. the final determination was that something had broken loose inside the catalytic convertor and would bounce around periodically blocking the exhaust flow. when blocked it would stall. after the stall the exhaust pressure dissipated and it would run again .....until the next occurrence. grtartiste .

i have a 2001 dodge dakota slt with a key fob issue. the batterery is good in the fob. i took the truck to the dealer and they tested the fob and the fob was giving out a signal. the fob will not unlock the doors and panic button will not work. i have tried to program the the fob to the truck but no luck. the door locks function properly from inside switch. im looking for other ideas before i go back to the dealer and loose and arm and leg. is it the transmitter that came with your truck if not where did you get it it may not be the correct p/n. almost daily i see folks come in with ebay transmitters that arent the right one for their vehicle and they are frustrated when they cant be programmed. mike .

get it tight enough but not too tight to damage the cap housing filter or o ring. any help would be appreciated. since the o-ring does the sealing work i simply tighten it down until the cap is touching the top of the housing then give it about 1/8 of a turn. never had a leak. .

on fri 08 dec 2006 104105 +0000 beekeep wrote are the wheels towed in about an eighth of an inch i dunno. the alignment is supposed to be within normal specs. my father also asked about the alignment. he believes that some combinations of camber/caster could produce poor tracking - even if the overall alignment was in spec. what is the significance of the eighth inch toe-in if it produces unstable tracking shouldnt one of the professional mechanics have caught it .

i found a nice 99 dodge 2500 cummins powered automatic trans. 4x4 quad cab with some useful aftermarket stuff airbag rear assist springs pre/post oiler multi type bed mount hitch 105 gal. in bed fuel tank with 120k miles for sale. i remember hearing some bad stories about the dodge automatic transmissions but i dont remember when they got them worked out. my main question is regarding the reliability of the transmission but any suggestions regarding what to look for or beware of are appreciated. for what its worth i have a 99 1500 5.9l 4x4 automatic quad cab that has been very reliable. i have seen some with milage rebuilt. expect to fork out at least $2000 for a rebuild. it depends on the previous owener also if they took care of the truck. my 2000 has hit 105k and i am second owner. the first owner put some after market stuff on it that should give me longer life and better performance on mine. the trans in the 1500 and 2500 are not same. if i am not mistaken dodge now has an option for a 5 speed allison now. you are mistaken. i was going by what a salesman told me. i looked on the lot for one but could not find mike .

as the son of a photographer im not sure youre making any sense. may we have a little more detail please supposing the license plate is black letters on white plate. and so the negative is white numbers on a black plate. would that be any harder to read apparantly if you print the image of a b/w negative as it is you will be able to see the numbers. the over exposed white then becomes black and the black letters on the plate become white thus able to see the plate number. however i am reading that a number of these cameras use ir instead of visible light therefore no overexposure flash. alo they have available a plate cover which i think is the best. it makes the plate numbers visible only if you are looking directly straight at the plate from behind. it was featured on csi miami on the other hand some states have police cars hidden on the side of the road taking pictures of speeders from behine. maybe use both the spray and plate cover -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. . it does work but the company only needs to reverse the negative to see the numbers on the plate. .

dirtclod wrote is there a certain torque spec in which to tighten the plastic cap on a fuel filter housing on my 2000 ctd the cap is tight --snug plus 1/4 turn-- and when it is warm outside there is no problem but at night when it drops to the mid 20s i get some leaking around the top of the cap. this weekend i plan to replace the filter and o ring and want to get it tight enough but not too tight to damage the cap housing filter or o ring. any help would be appreciated. the 2001 manual says 25 lbs/ft but im not sure its the same housing the 2000 uses. what does the owners manual say see http//i12.tinypic.com/29esjtw.jpg -- ken .
