Q: thinking about installing this system in my durango. looking for some input on the system is it accuate and any other kind of pros and cons. which one the rb1 which is a dvd-based system or the rb4 which is cd-based i have the rb1 which has a map display and am very happy with it. its been very accurate its fast re-calculates routes much faster than cd-based systems the steering wheel control integration is very useful and you cant beat the ease of installation being a factory replacement. an aftermarket unit like the pioneer avic-n1 is about the same amount of money a little more involved to install but has more features- take a look at http//www.avic-n1.com .

the truck required a new shift cable and is now working fine. howard user1686 wrote on thu 27 jan 2005 045554 gmt tom lawrence tnloaswpraemnmcien5g@earthlink.net wrote shift and other times it takes a minute or two. is there anything that i can check as a layman before taking it to the shop thanks howard. not really... sounds like a sticking solenoid. this is one for the dealer. tom.. not sure on dodges but could it be a brake light switch as in older fords been there done that mac please remove splinters before emailing i had this problem in my automatic 98 mustang.i was at dunkin donuts and i started the car.it would not let me shift.ive had the problem before but after a few tries i would finally be able to shift.not this timei couldnt figure it out.i looked down near the pedal and a wire that goes to the brake pedal was loose and it was sparking.it was the brake sensor wire and it wasnt sensing that i was pressing the brake.i had someone just connect the wires back together. ronnie -- posted using the http//www.autoforumz.com interface at authors request articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards topic url http//www.autoforumz.com/dodge-shifter-move-ftopict100637.html visit topic url to contact author reg. reqd. report abuse http//www.autoforumz.com/eform.phpp=483701 .

it the tube is bent and you are not seeing or feeling any handling issues i would think that the bent tube is still strong and safe as far as that goes. the only thing i would be worried about is a seal failure but if the bend is minor you are probably ok there as well. if this is a new thing i would keep an eye on it for a while. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving tbone thanks. yes its a new problem. but i will keep an eye on it like you suggested. i was driving it today and i noticed no problems in handling no noise vibration etc.. everything seems just fine. at a later date i will most likely pull it apart a bit and give it a closer inspection. i do have the tools and a good service manual. i did have a ford 3/4 ton 2x4 with a bent rear axle and i used that one for hauling firewood and i did not have any problems with it except uneven tire wear. thanks again. steve. the story 1988 dodge power ram 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup. excessive camber toe out on left front tire. i stood down the street about 50 feet in front of my truck when it was parked on level pavement and i held a one foot long ruler in front of me and sighted it up to the line of the front axle housing. the axle housing looks to be slightly bent downward. also the left front tire is toed out. the truck drives just fine and its not making any noises vibrations nor is handling or cornering a problem. my questions are perhaps the axle tube is bent or perhaps the steering mechanisms are bent if the axle housing is bent and its not causing any driving difficulties would it be safe to drive this truck for the short term until i could get it repaired .

check engine light has been on for about 2 months got it checked out when it first came on at autozone. they said the code reflected a small minor fuel system leak perhaps a faulty gas cap replaced and reset check engine light or a vacuum leak. well the engine check light is back on... any ideas on where to start thanks kevin .

jason try using air ride bags for your boosters. they work great can be adjusted to the load and can take you back to almost a stock ride when you are empty. keep in mind that they are not intended for you to exceed the gvrw. in fact no helper spring system out there recommends this. but if you want to keep the truck level when full or at any other point then you might look into air ride suspension. i added a set to my 2500 for when i have the 5th wheel on and after a few pounds of air i have the optional on board compressor i am perfectly level. there are a few companies that make them airride and firestone are the two that come to mind. you can find them a places like jegs jc whitney or a number of other after market dealers. shop around since there are always deal with one company or another. i saved about $200 on my set when i bought them from jegs. good luck -- ken i was wondering if there are aftermarket parts to increase the payload capacity of a 2wd dakota like heavier springs or something. ride quality doesnt really matter much as this is a work truck for hauling dirt rock etc. -- jason g gays have eroded the right to marriage so much that its just about ruined for us straights. every time they get married they use up a little bit of our collective ability to get married. when they go having that gay sex theyre using up sex too! somebody stop them! --waldo jaquith .

on tue 15 feb 2005 044740 gmt nosey kfrei43@removethis.hotmail.com wrote the ones that ive seen are on the f-250/350 tds... thats what i thought too. and the 250/350s have a max tow rating of 16k so they are advertising that they are grossly overweight in towing a 19200 lb trailer methinks an engineer got loose in the sales department at ford. ;- you can tow 19200 lbs 5th wheel with the f-350 drw 4x2 with the tow boss option diesel engine and automatic transmission. gcwr is 26000 lbs. 26001 and higher require a cdl. coincidence http//www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/superduty/features/specs/#tow thanks. no coincidence. they cant sell trucks if the typical buyer has to go get a special license to drive it. .

i got my prodigy brake controller today. i also go the wiring harness for the 05 ram. will my truck have the other end installed if i dont have the tow package....i cant seem to find where the harness belonging to the truck is... nope mine didnt on the 2002 ram. i had to run a wire from the brake controller through the firewall down through the bottom and to the 7-pin rv plug. i also use the prodigy. one great controller! it actually wasnt all that difficult. i used wire loom to help prevent any kind of unwanted cutting by metal. use zip-ties to secure the wire. took me about 30 min. to do. .
