youll get better traction if the chains are on all 4 wheels but the ride will beat you to death and handeling will suck. so just put them on the rear tires put it in 4h and drive a little slower. thats the main reason the chp requires chains so the fools from the la basin will slow down politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. i will have to keep that in mind if i ever see someone from the la basin. you are right though. many people here cant drive to start with and then you add rain or snow and its just a mess. then you see some 19 year old that has been driving for three years so he is obviously an authority on driving in adverse weather and ends up flipping his suv in the rain. .

i personally would just go with the all seasons assuming the tread is better than 60% on all 4 tires but then again my view is tainted being a canadian and spending 10 out of 12 months driving in winter conditions in all seriousness though go for the cables the ride is a little smoother and a little less hard on your rubber and take it slow basically drive for the conditions and use common sense if the pavement is dry dont even bother putting on the cables or chains. good luck to ya. trey wrote i have a 99 dak 4x4 but since i live in a non-snowy area southern ca i do not have snow tires. looking at the routs up to the ski resorts they say you must have chains or snow tires on all four tires on 4wd cars. so i will need chains will i just need chains for the rear tires or all four if i only needs the rears should i run it in 4wd right now i have michelin xc lt4 tires that are about half way through their life. are these considered snow tires or just lame tires you really only need the chains on the rear wheels to satisfy the legal requirements. youll get better traction if the chains are on all 4 wheels but the ride will beat you to death and handeling will suck. so just put them on the rear tires put it in 4h and drive a little slower. your tires are pretty good all seasons. i probably wouldnt change them for the few times each year that the going gets dicey up there. when you do get around to changing them consider the michelin ltx m/s. i find it to be an excellent all weather / all surface tire. i was just looking. i can get chains for about $80. not as bad as i thought it would be. so now the big question. cable or chain both are the same price. those ltx m/s tires look pretty good. i have a feeling i will not be changing the tires for a few years though. ever since i got my motorcycle i have been putting less then 50 miles a month on my truck now. so the tires will not be worn out as fast. i bet i will get another year out of the tires. .

i think you are about 8 months late with the advice.............. another summer is right around the corner...ya never know ;- --mike maynard wrote on 10 jul 2003 013732 gmt pigbruce@aol.com pig bruce wrote i have a 1973 dodge motorhome with a 413 cu in v8. the problem is that it is unreliable. it always starts easily when the engine is cold. when you drive it for 15 minutes up to an hour it just quits running. if you wait 10 minutes it will restart and run again for the same length of time. if you remove the air cleaner and look in the carb it is getting plenty of gas. if you remove a spark plug wire it is getting plenty of spark. i bought a new holley 4 barrel carb. i bought a new electric fuel pump.i bought 2 new ignition modules. i replaced the magnetic timer in the distributor. new cap and rotor new coil twice. new aluminum fuel tank and fuel lines. new ballast resistor. i moved the coil to the outside of the engine compartment. i have talked to many mechanics and they said i have done what they would have. i bought this motorhome 6 months ago so i could take my kids camping2 boys 12 and 16 years old but time is running out. please help! bruce bolton ft myers fla 239 693 2756 try another distributer module i have found brand new ones sensitive to engine heat and will die on the spot only to restart when cool hope that works for you it did twice for me i think you are about 8 months late with the advice.............. jerry .

had to remove the distributor to remove a broken cap screw. what is the best way to reposition it the right cap screw looked to be over the dist hold down screw thats the way i replaced it visual. it runs fine but still is cranking too long before starting. that started after the check engine light came on which was a failing oxygen sensor & i cleaned both with injector cleaner & put a can in the tank also. dick --- outgoing mail is certified virus free. checked by avg anti-virus system http//www.grisoft.com. version 6.0.596 / virus database 379 - release date 2/26/2004 .

the steering has gottem sticky on my 98 2500 td. it seems to be sticking up near the steering wheel itself and takes more than usual effort to turn it slightly. as a result it tends to overcorrect when driving down the high way. any one know a fix .

sadly the power seat mechanism is replaced as an a$$embly! you either can buy a new one at your local dealer or maybe find one at a salvage yard that you can cannibalize for parts. hope this helps! chryco service manager member sae on sun 07 mar 2004 184619 gmt lost@lost.edu wrote dont need to respond . the gear box is trashed on the jack screw. any one know if you can buy the jack screw assembly or do i need to replace the whole power seat mechanical unit thanks 2001 town&country power seat screw jam . any way to free jam thanks .

anything is doable if you have enough time and money but imho it aint worth either just buy a new truck. mike anyone done a new hemi in a 94-01 ram ive got 151000 miles on my 97. love the truck. new motor time or new truck probably needed in a year or so. i see the price of a used low mileage 5.7 hemi with all accesories is now within reach from wrecking yards. i test drove the new hemi and was impressed with it. would be alot less than buying a new one.....or would it is this a doable swap .
