Dodge Durango Automatic Door Lock problems
From : summertime
Q: ive done a little searching on my problem with no luck in resolving it. my issue which started a few months back on my 2000 dodge durango stl has been driving my nuts. i saw another post with the same problem but with no resolutions. any ways my door locks keep locking and unlocking themselves. it doesnt matter whether its running or not. somedays it doesnt happen other days every few seconds to minutes. ive call two different dodge dealers and explained the problem. all they say is that they have not heard of a problem lick mine nor do they have a idea what would be causing it. i cant just imagine this this will cost a pretty penny just like the upper ball joint problem that i had to get fixed a few months ago along with the clock spring and the clutch fan. thanks in advance .

do you have the factory remote lock/unlock/panic key fob if so take the batteries out for a few hours to a day and see if it happens again. if you have the second fob try the same thing on it. i had some soda pop get down in mine once before and it made it act three shades of weird maybe it is a result of something in there. tm ive done a little searching on my problem with no luck in resolving it. my issue which started a few months back on my 2000 dodge durango stl has been driving my nuts. i saw another post with the same problem but with no resolutions. any ways my door locks keep locking and unlocking themselves. it doesnt matter whether its running or not. somedays it doesnt happen other days every few seconds to minutes. ive call two different dodge dealers and explained the problem. all they say is that they have not heard of a problem lick mine nor do they have a idea what would be causing it. i cant just imagine this this will cost a pretty penny just like the upper ball joint problem that i had to get fixed a few months ago along with the clock spring and the clutch fan. thanks in advance .

if its the other half of the keyless entry system you can disconnect the module and buy yourself a hornet 2 way car alarm for under $200 and not have to worry about it again. its fairly straightforward to install oneself. i bought one off of ebay and it took about 3 hours to install a new installation. in my van it had an older viper alarm and it bit the dust but thankfully the harness was the same cept for one wire and i snipped it and ran with it!. good luck tm thanks tm ill give it a shot but i have a feeling its going to be some kind of a $500.00 module. its been pretty bad this week. im about to park it and light it on fire and have a party. do you have the factory remote lock/unlock/panic key fob if so take the batteries out for a few hours to a day and see if it happens again. if you have the second fob try the same thing on it. i had some soda pop get down in mine once before and it made it act three shades of weird maybe it is a result of something in there. tm ive done a little searching on my problem with no luck in resolving it. my issue which started a few months back on my 2000 dodge durango stl has been driving my nuts. i saw another post with the same problem but with no resolutions. any ways my door locks keep locking and unlocking themselves. it doesnt matter whether its running or not. somedays it doesnt happen other days every few seconds to minutes. ive call two different dodge dealers and explained the problem. all they say is that they have not heard of a problem lick mine nor do they have a idea what would be causing it. i cant just imagine this this will cost a pretty penny just like the upper ball joint problem that i had to get fixed a few months ago along with the clock spring and the clutch fan. thanks in advance .
