Dodge Dually Wheel Removal
From : 61panhead
Q: hello i have a 2002 dodge dually ctd 4x4 extended cab. about 120000 miles. it runs fine. best riding and reliable truck i have ever owned and i tend to semi-abuse them. is it possible to remove the inner rear wheels; just leaving the outer rear wheels in place without any bad affects i was thinking that might help with the fuel mileage a bit. i very rarely carry anything heavy so reducing the load carrying capacity is not a concern. thanks for any advice. clint === .

rh wrote what kind of mileage are you guys getting in the city with the 3.9 in a 2001 dakota i filled the tank and got 149 miles before it was ready to be fueled againunless the fuel light comes on when there are still 5 gallons left. with a 20 gal tank this is awfulabout 7 miles per galloni find that very hard to believe. anyone have any ideas about the same as youd get with a fullsize half ton. i was jaded too with these 1/4 tonne trucks thinking they were a fuel saver... not the case i shouldnt have jumped on that foolish band wagon -- now im stuck with one for at least another few months until i get enough use out of it... .
