Diesel that will be parked for 9 months a year
From : thepakman
Q: hello we recently bought brand new dodge ram 05. we used it tow our travel trailer during the summer and now it will be parked for the next 8 or 9 months. we live near the sea so the air is constantly humid and their is a significant amount of airborne salt mist. the truck is parked in a garage but the garage to big windows that have nothing but metal bars on the so that the outside air circulates freely through the garage. so my question is what should i do to ensure that our dodge ram ctd remains in top notch condition and is not harmed by the 8 to 9 months of being parked in a humid and saline environment 1. how often should i start-it up 2. when i start-up should i run it n the highway for a some time 3. is there anything i need to do to the fuel like put a stabilizer in it 4. what about the engine oildo need to change it before we embark on our annual summer trip 5. should i disconnet the batteties thanks in advance for your input. sell it and rent a truck when you need to move your trailer or pay somebody to tow it. .

on a 2wd good luck getting the wheel to turn afterwards actually ive done this 3 times without any problem as i replace my wheel bearings every 50000 miles. i wonder why you say good luck getting the wheel to move. not only do i not have a problem it spins freely with 1 finger! do you have a manual for reference if you do what does it say to use i would find it hard to believe my manual is that much differnt than yours.never had a problem except for the dealer charging $13 for the hub nut. slickwilly. .

tbone wrote and you also got your definitions wrong again as the arbritary limit determins who is rich and how they get the money and what they do with it determins greed. lol you cant keep a straight line of thought on this! youve already said its all about money. you backing off that now can someone earn millions and not be greedy read your very next statement quoted below...its about money to you tbone...you say it right below lol. once they pass a certian point they are greedy and should be at a higher tax rate temper temper miles. i know that the truth hurts. you do know that at any point in time that there is a finite amount of wealth in the world and every dime taken by one person prevents everyone else form getting it bull tbone. you have no comprehension of basic economics. if your bs were true then there would be no more wealth today than 100 years ago. nobody new can be wealthy unless someone who currently is becomes far less wealthy or alot more poor people lol thats some funny stuff right there! those that need it and are willing to and are working for it. this is the way of the world and when one person takes hundreds or even thousands of times more money than they need for no other reason than to say that they are successful in reality they are nothing but greedy selfish ignorant and prideful much like yourself. the wealthiest people are also the most generous when it comes to charity in terms of $ support and voluntary time. i know you believe otherwise...everyone with money is greedy and should be punished with high taxes. do your employees that helped you build this business get this same opportunity i doubt it. yes they have the same opportunity to build their own company with their own money. same as me. with the exceptional salary you pay yourself you should be investing some of that in the market hmm...so invest in the market eh you mean buy stock ownership in another company so thats ok but making a return on an investment in my own company is greedy. it just keeps getting funnier every day! no that sounds more like trying to ease you guilt but we both know better than that. rofl...so if wealthy people dont give $s and time to others theyre greedy. if they do give and volunteer time theyre just doing so because they feel guilty. only proper way is to pay higher taxes huh think that will help more people with that method of redistribution with the costs of politics inbetween the people giving and the people receiving lol you really are too much miles. they do it because they can afford to gives the non-working members of a rich family something to do while making them look better less greedy and can be a significant tax write-off. write off so they should be taxed on the money they give to the poor now youre being absurd again. ok so i give $10000 directly to those that need it. you would prefer i pay an extra $10000 in taxes the government burns off $5000+ in expenses and maybe gives $5000 to to people that need it in reality government redistribution is worse than 50%. is it about helping others tbone or about sticking it to those greedy bastards .

someone mentioned the disc rotors rusting during storage but no one mentioned the cylinder liners rusting over that long storage period i thought the rule of thumb was to start a standby engine at least once a week and run them till up to temperature fred hello we recently bought brand new dodge ram 05. we used it tow our travel trailer during the summer and now it will be parked for the next 8 or 9 months. we live near the sea so the air is constantly humid and their is a significant amount of airborne salt mist. the truck is parked in a garage but the garage to big windows that have nothing but metal bars on the so that the outside air circulates freely through the garage. so my question is what should i do to ensure that our dodge ram ctd remains in top notch condition and is not harmed by the 8 to 9 months of being parked in a humid and saline environment 1. how often should i start-it up 2. when i start-up should i run it n the highway for a some time 3. is there anything i need to do to the fuel like put a stabilizer in it 4. what about the engine oildo need to change it before we embark on our annual summer trip 5. should i disconnet the batteties thanks in advance for your input. .

budd cochran wrote budd... i gotta ask you here... what about someone whos talking on a cellphone and accidentally hits and kills someone how many states have laws against cell phone usage while driving almost all states do indirectly. most states have a law against driving under any impairment or distraction which would include but not be limited to cell phone usage. unfortunatly its not enforced often. .

joe wrote the evaporative emission control system leak code is back. already replaced the gas cap and cleared the code but it came back after a couple days. did this twice now. any suggestions on where to look beyond the gas cap tia. joe 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies is this the 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc is the new cap aftermarket does the lip of the gas filler neck look damaged or rusted vapors are escaping...these vapors are routed through hoses solenoid valve and a leak detection pump. you can visually inspect the rubber vacuum hoses and plastic black lines under the hood from the fuel tank and under the vehicle for cracks and wear also look at the gas tank return fuel lines and filler tube for signs of leaking fuel. you can have a smoke test performed at a shop but with this code usually a thorough visual inspection will find the fault --j -- message posted via carkb.com http//www.carkb.com/uwe/forums.aspx/dodge-truck/200512/1 .

yenc-post 2002 scribbled in the wall; oh really i just traded in my 1979 4wd dodge. it only began falling apart this past year. its never been garaged. as far as renting....where the heck would that happen! no where. and you would trust some jerk to do the towing...lol. and you live where exactly im in the deserts of ut and i see solid old iron everyday like a 64 belvedere 318 polyhead with still shiny original paint or a 46 powerwagon that just needs a little tlc for its paint. btw look in the yellow pages for a place to rent a truck from under auto rentals or possibly tool rentals either one works here in this little burg of 4000 population. budd. .
