Diesel Fuel

Q: hey guys im selling my prized dodge. ive put photos up over on alt.binaries.pictures.autos.4x4. aol and i dont get alone too well so i had to resort to other accounts and outlook express. it was my first shot ever at posting to a binary group so i dont think i did too bad except for screwing up my posting handles. the first one is posted as joe blow all the rest show up for me on easy with the handle robert as replies to joe blow. enough of all that. heres the truck a 1996 3500 long bed extended cab cummins automatic 4x4 106000 miles. i bought it new in december 1995. as best as i recall its not missing any factory options or accessories its a loaded truck window sticker after discounts was $35 862 in the photos ive posted ive tried to emphasize the negatives after getting them all cataloged theres more than i thought. the absolute worst is the tailgate the rest is fairly minor scratches. ive included photos of the only two interior flaws ive seen a cut welting on the drivers seatback outside edge and the power seat bezel is broken. i didnt know of either of these until i removed the seat covers. the covers have been on since new so the seats look new with these two exceptions. the leather steering wheel has also been covered since new and looks great not worn like most. this is a great truck and i really dont want to get rid of it but the reality is i just dont need it. the warranty expired on time instead of mileage in december 2000. at that point it was just shy of 100000 miles as of today four years later it has exactly 106000 miles. license and insurance costs have sure been high on a per mike basis the last few years. as you can see if you download the photos i live in a fairly wooded area we have lots of squirrels yeah some two legged ones also but mostly the four legged critters. since the truck sits so much last winter they decided the left front of the engine compartment would make a good home and wiring was just what they needed for a good nest...twice now ive had the damage repaired and it wasnt cheap. they got the cruise control twice the wipers once the left front marker light once and some of the 4x4 wiring once sheesh. all this damage was professionally repaired by a well respected local independent tdr member. while im fussy hes picky times two! good enough is not in his vocabulary. sorry to be so long winded bottom line is im asking $15000 or best offer. id like for it to have a new home by christmas maybe your home thanks robert .

max.............i do own a 2005 ram qc hemi with awd. thats cool. i couldnt find confirmation of awd on dodge official site or kbb which is odd since one should be accurate and the other is usually very accurate. the electronic choices are awd-4hi-4lo. sounds as if you have the choice of disabling the computer control if its a full time case. do you also have a 2hi selection the gas mileage is actually better than a 2003 that i had equipped the same except for the awd. different computer chip could be or different gearing either way sounds like you avoided the mpg problem. im curious what a 05 with a part time case would get compared to yours. so far 3000 miles it has been really sure footed in slippery weather. sounds like it works like it should. what are your differentials open or ls max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

joel clean the grease and crud from the front of the engine right under the drivers side head above the power steering pump if you have one and see if some numbers are stamped on the engine on the area thats a vertical machined flat surface. they should read 318 340 or 360 with 318 and 360 being the normal truck engine sizes but i wouldnt put it past someone swapping in a 340. there should be a manufacturing date and possible a serial number also iirc. also the small block engines have the distributor in the back just in case yours has it up front and tilted toward the passenger side big block swapped in vbg. most big block numbers are on the machined pad next to the distributor hold down. -- budd whats the difference between a bad golfer and a bad skydiver one goes whack darn and the other goes darn whack. on sun 12 dec 2004 084709 -0500 maxpower wrote your local dodge dealer does anyone have a link to a dodge parts supplier on line. preferably with specifications. you wouldnt think that they would be hard to find but i am looking for an oil dipstick. i have an 87 dodge d-100 custom. i believe it started with a slant six. that has been replaced with a v-8. i thought it was a 318 and ordered a dipstick it was about 3 inches to long. the stick that i currently have is 29 inches long from the end to the stop for the tube. yes i have done the change the oil and filter to check if it is the correct stick. any help is appreciated. ordered the one that was wrong from my local dodge dealer. you think that they would have specs on their parts. .

using agricultural non-taxed fuel i.e. red fuel in an over-the-road non-agricultural vehicle is a serious matter. if you get caught expect a visit from us treasury agents armed with an arrest warrant for tax fraud. if youre prosecuted a $10k fine for such monkey business is not unusual. kbrennan@wi.rr.com writes the problem is if you have any red dye fuel in your tank any tank while on a public road. the only ones that get away with it are farm vehicles that are not registered for road use and only travel on roads when going from field to field you know the ones that you get stuck behind and cuss at when trying to make time on a country road. ken gene wrote around here the logging contractors are a target for random stops on sr66. it seems pickups with an off road fuel tank in the back get checked now & then. i know of one contractor who got hit for 10 grand... ten grand! ouch!!! i wonder. in my old 1971 f250 it had two gas tanks and a switch under the dash. could i fill one with offroad fuel and one with onroad fuel then switch back and forth as i travel on road and offroad say i worked on a farm and had a fa

nrosebrook wrote hi rhino or line-x is one better that the other or are they comparable thanks for you info. line-x is a harder smoother surface. its a bit more durable. the rhino is a softer more rubbery surface that helps keep cargo from shifting around. i have a rhino and like it but its showing its age. i have a few minor damaged spots from abuse. the rhino has a lifetime warranty but i havent bothered to get it fixed yet. im satisfied with its performance but a line-x would have probably served my purposes better. .

swap injectors 7 with 1 to see if the code changes and when you have it out tap on a paper towel with the injector to see if any dirt comes out you may have gotten some contaminated fuel and it always effects that injector first lawrence tnloaswpraemnmcien5g@earthlink.net writes if it occurs again a quick way to isolate the problem is to bleed the pressue from the fuel rail pull the fuse for the pump and run the engine till it dies or if you have a shrader valve on the fuel rail some years did some didnt you can bleed it with a pressure gauge then swap the #5 and #7 injectors. if the misfire moves to #5 youve found your bad injector. well crap here we go again. 97 ram 1500 5.2 74k miles. its been a bit over 2 months since i had the injectors cleaned new plugs new ignition wires new coil new cap all chryco oem parts. since then ive made a 2200 mile road trip to illinois & back without issue. the problem came back yesterday code 43. stopped by autozone on the way home tonight. their obdii tool says exact same as before cyl #7 misfire. same cylinder how much trouble is it to do as you suggest above any chance choice of gasoline brand could be contributing to this .

well if you look at the local paper and i myself live 8 miles from the area you will see that all the people that were supposed to move in this month were black and mexicans these houses were 4 to 5 hundred thousand dollar houses im sure that the end result will be a white carcasion male living in the neighborhood having something to do with it i cant see why enviormentalists that was fighting to save a swamp land set all these on fire to risk the damage of what they were fighting for it makes no sense now today i hear that there was one house that was being built had been spray painted with racial things how do you figure that environmentalists were up in arms over the buildings already. -- budd whats the difference between a bad golfer and a bad skydiver that would put you in laplata/whiteplains area and i would be willing to take a bet that is not an enviromental thing it will be found as a racial act of crime some of you may have seen on the national

ed try resetting the fuel tables. this usually can be done by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. if this dosent help you may have a bad o2 sensor im getting a code p0171on my 2000 durango. i replaced the plugs and air cleaner but no luck. the plugs were very black. also notice the fuel smells funny very sweet however i filled up my jeep at the same station on the same day and no trouble w/ it. any suggestions thanks ed .

denny wrote as a prowed owner of an 03 ctd ram i have had no problems with the truck but i do have a question. this past summer my truck recieved a tank full of red off road diesel at a job site. i have been told that this is bad because it does something to the injectors. was wondering if there is any truth to this. thanks. it really doesnt hurt a thing as far as your injectors go but it does put a severe strain on your bank account if youre caught running it on the road. i just dont understand why politicians have no sense of humor when it comes to not paying a tax....... denny how often is this checked this is rather unheard of in socal where there is not much in terms of off road fuels. .
