Q: if you only have one key you cannot do this yourself. for the owner to be able to self-program the skim key it requires two good keys. to obtain a new key and programming will require a visit to the dealer or a locksmith who has the programming capabilities few do. hope this helps! mike .

none that i can think of...the passenger side window on the drivers side is acting up. what are c-codes i have been reading this forum for some time now and i did the odometer button and turn the ignition and i do have a couple of c-codes 64 04 61 15 i called 2 dealers and they cant tell me what they mean without the p-code. didnt have a clue huh one of them must have been brents dealership... at any rate - c-codes are cluster codes and dont have anything to do with the obd-ii system which is engine/powertrain related. they define errors in the instrument cluster. the first number is the code itself ie. 64 or 61 the second number is the number of ignition cycles since the code last presented itself so code 64 happened 4 cycles ago - code 61 happened 15 cycles ago. code 61 is a passenger dooe lock switch input circuit open. code 64 is a driver door lock switch input circuit open. are your door locks giving you any problems .

hi all this is my first diesel so pardon me if this is considered normal behavior for my truck. first ... its a 2004 ram with the 305/555 cummins engine. 4wd automatic. i just purchased two seadoos with a double trailer. total weight is approximately 2500 lbs. i pulled them from lake ozark mo to dallas tx last weekend with absolutely no trouble. in fact i pulled them in overdrive all of the way and the tranny never hunted one time. i dropped them off to be serviced and picked them back up last night. i was backing them into my storage facility which is a complete bitch to do. firstly i am backing them uphill around a corner. i had to start straightening out at which point i have to ride up on a curb with my driver front tire. rpms were up pretty good to accomplish this. i finally got everything where it should be and i smelled a burning smell. smelled like hot oil. i glanced at my temp gauge and it was up a little higher and usual ... just over the halfway mark 200. i unhooked the trailer and went for a spin down the road to cool things back down. my question is what was burning the tranny craig c. .

first comes the question --- does anything else spotlight cell phone charger anything that plugs into a cigar lighter socket work if so go to the auto parts store and get a new lighter insert. im not sure that my experience with my 89 dakota is valid here but i looked up in my mauals. on my truck cavity 7 15 amp fuse serves horn relay cigarette lighter and tachometer. you might want to look in the user manual you have for what the proper fuse is and what else it may serve. if those things are working go to your local favorite automotive parts store and get a new insert ah but i have no manual that is the rub...and haynes doesnt help a lot - regardless finally found it - one of those blew but doesnt look like it deals. the radio being half-dead can be related. your owners manual will be able to tell you more than i can especially if it is a fuse or a shorting problem. another thought hits my head. how did you check the fuses do you have an ohm meter or a testing light or did you look at the fuses only with the blade fuses in my truck ive been fooled by the appearance a few times.. yep you hit it. my multimeter is sitting in peices little weird fuses in it that i remember any time but when im somewhere to get them and i was just looking and sticking new ones in just in case - one of those i must have swapped in my hand while crawling upsidedown in the dark and hadnt actually checked it. my dearly beloved did the same but must have not fumbled them like i did cause he found it. looks good but for the little item of no juice flowing through... still bemused about the half-dead radio though. cricket or dont try to clean up your ciggie lighter contacts with a file... okay i know that was a dumb idea well the forgetting i hadnt turned the key off part anyway.... regardless i big surprise blew a fuse. what fuse is the question - no fuse i found is bad. the lighter is dead the radio is semi-dead...sound comes on but wont hold a station no clock or other display lights. secret inline fuse that requires pulling the whole damn dash its possessed none of the above anyone thanks cricket .

now ummm what does this mean to me. should i just mention it to my mechanic when i go for my oil change next month or do i need to address it right away well it means a couple of things. first the two symptoms lazy shifting and check engine light are most likely unrelated. secondly it means your a/c might not be operating because somethings screwy with the clutch circuit. its nothing you need to worry about immediately. the tranny on the other hand well.... id get that checked. transmission rebuilds can get expensive. .

sprayed around intake with starting fluid carefully and no change in engine speed. mil light went out day later but code is still in system with reader. does it stay there as historical info or something will try this weekend. thanks. reader shows cylinder 2 misfire detected. i have changed spark plug wires cap rotor injector and ran professional injection cleaner at the rail. i am still getting the code back after clearing it out. could the rail be faulty what the hell else could it be 1999 ram 1500 4x4 auto 5.9 gas with 65000 miles. vacuum leak near cylinder 2. spray some flammable gas around cyl 2 intake manifold and note if idle speed increases. if it does replace intake manifold gasket. peter .
