Q: have an 03 ram 1500 4.7l. the engine idiot light came on. i plan to take it in on monday under warranty but just wondering what kinds of things this light might be indicating. more interested than anything else. one or more sensors detected an abnormal condition and its significant enough that it could affect the emissions output of the engine - hence the light. cycle the key off-on-off-on-off-on dont go to start and one or more diagnostic codes pxxxx will be displayed on the odometer. you can then look up these codes on many websites search for obd-ii diagnostic codes or post them back here. .
