Dash Vent Troubles - 2003 Dodge R3500 DSL

From : bob

Q: my driver side front door seems to have stopped working. the actuator seems like it seized up. i cant lock or unlock the door manually by hand. i took the skin off and removed the 3 screws that secure the actuator to the door frame. however seems like i cant get the actuator to slip behind the window track. is there an easier way to remove this actuator i need to switch it. normally these actuators make a horrible noise before they go. this one just died. hopefully someone could share how to remove this thing... john .

this seems to be my story with the last dodge to but i never did get any answers and ended up doing a transmission rebuilt at the tranny shop.. so before the tranny in my 2000 dakota sport 4x4 bellys up heres my question.. every day i get in the truck to go to work i start it wait for the initial cold start rpms to drop back to idle and put it into d.. nothing.. about 3-5 seconds later it goes into gear. im also starting to notice a degrade in shifting.. sometimes its harsh while other times it seems to slide nicely into the next gear. i just changed the two filters in the tranny last weekend and it doesnt seem to be any better in fact it seems worse. when i changed the filter there was no film or bits of clutches and other transmission parts in the pan. just a slight discoloring of the fluid no burn smell and a light film on the magnet.. which i expected to see anyhow. from a not so informed transmission inspection standpoint the tranny appeared clean and healthy inside and there were no visble debris in the open spaces in the bolt on filter. i really like this truck and would like to know if anybody else has experienced this and if theres something a decent non-tranmission expert type like transmission mechanic can fix 2000 dakota sport 4x4 - 4.7 v8. thank you muchly! ken ----== posted via feeds.com - unlimited-unrestricted-secure usenet ==---- http//www.feeds.com the #1 group service in the world! 120000+ groups ----= east and west-coast server farms - total privacy via encryption =---- .

of course this would have to happen during a stampede of elephants on the 4th of july between the hours of 345 and 415 during a hail storm with one baby zebra.... but it could happen hey....i saw that happen!!!.. thats the reason i bought that big smith...just in case it ever happened again.. give the smith to your daughter we know she is the better shot. she may be with some but not that one. tis a bit much for her arm. ill leave the one liners about elephants alone for now. just cause you cant think of any.... how was the trip denny .

i replaced the lighter fuse with ease as it is located on the side of the dash. i pulled every fuse out and could not find another blown fuse. the fuse for the accessory outlet is located in the power distribution center which is the black plastic box under the hood next to the battery. its in position l a 20a standard-size as opposed to the mini-blades in the cab blade fuse in the corner. thanks for the info tom. i did not even think to look there. trent -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .

hi everyone i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 slt 4x4 108000km 5.2l with the 4-speed automatic tranny. a while back i went through a total mess with the dealership i bought it from non-dodge the problem was that it wouldnt stay in overdrive. they replaced the overdrive solenoids the fluid and filter 3 ! times and then sent it to a tranny shop ... they cleaned the valve body and replaced the tps. still not fixed though better probably due to replacing the tps. anyhow it ended up at a 5-star chrysler dealer after they admitted they had no idea and the 5-star dealer reprogrammed the tcm problem solved. i know youre all thinking that should have been the first step. ok so even before the tcm was reprogrammed sometimes it would take off sluggish sometimes it would go sluggish then make a soft bang and take off normal. i thought the parking brake was stuck on. it turns out that it is not shifting in 1st gear! it does this almost all the time now. if i shift it manually no problems. any ideas what this may be i just want enough information to not get screwed over again. to me it sounds like a pcm/tcm issue but im no tranny genius. thanks! derek .
