Dakota no start

From : mowingy

Q: hello--just got back from vacation and the 02 3.9l 4x4 dak wont start after sitting in the driveway for almost 3 weeks in a variety of weather. seeing code p0320 using key on-off x3. no spark when cranking but cranks well. from what i see on the internet i am guessing that this may be a faulty crankshaft position sensor. any opinions from you folks out there also--any reliable way to test the existing sensor thanks in advance. .

crankshaft position sensor. any opinions from you folks out there also--any reliable way to test the existing sensor thanks in advance. this just came up last week... look for a post from me on the 24th with a subject of computer code id help. same problem... as for testing the sensor its possible - youd need a 5vdc power supply to power the sensor and a very sensitive meter that can read ac millivolts - with the sensor powered by +5v and the meter monitoring the signal wire if you wave a piece of iron/steel in front of the sensor you should be able to detect some voltage as you disrupt the magnetic field. if none of the above makes sense to you then the short answer is no. .
