Q: hello - i am trying to decide on what to buy regarding a service manual for my 04 dakota. the following site www.techauthority.com has the service manual available in print and cd rom format. the price difference is $70.00. anyone have any opinions experience pros/cons on the two formats do both contain the same info - e.g. illustrations exploded parts views etc any help would be appreciated. robert .

uncle klattu wrote hello - i am trying to decide on what to buy regarding a service manual for my 04 dakota. the following site www.techauthority.com has the service manual available in print and cd rom format. the price difference is $70.00. anyone have any opinions experience pros/cons on the two formats do both contain the same info - e.g. illustrations exploded parts views etc any help would be appreciated. robert if you have access to a computer and printer near your work area i would get the cd. i use aircraft repair manuals in electronic format all the time at work. when we made the switch from paper manuals it was an uncomfortable learning experience but i now prefer the computer manuals. you just print out the section of the book that you need and take it to the job. if you are doing messy work you dont have to worry about ruining the pages of your manual. you can make notes right on the printout and highlight important info when doing complicated repairs or troubleshooting. if a friend asks to borrow your manual just print out the section that he wants and you dont have to worry about him returning your manual. .
