thanks for the help. youre right it does not overheat as fast over 60. it runs high real fast when on heavy traffic. i will try to replace the fan clutch. how do you troubleshoot it thanks a lot. *cbhvac* stephen@screweduponpurpose@carolinabreezehvac.com wrote in i just changed it recently. first you need to determine if its really overheating. if it is then you have already answered your own question. probably wont overheat as fast on the hiway at speeds over 60 will it considering the fact that anything said on usenet about things we cant see and diagnose ourselves given the consideration that you have a new rad in there then look at the facts....it overheats with the air on....your condensor is adding a few btus to the rad and the fan isnt able to pull air through it fast enough to remove it. check the condensor fins to make sure they are not clogged with road debis and if not chances are that you are going to find out that your fan clutch is toast. i have a 1992 dodge dakota. i noticed last summer that it overheats. it did not overheat during winter. i noticed just recently that the temperature rises almost to overheating when i have the air conditioner on. it has a 5.2l engine with a fan clutch type cooling fan. thanks for any help. have you ever changed out your radiator it may be beyond its usefull life. test it out and change it if necessary. -- fmb only one b in fmb .
