Q: open letter from santa claus i regret to inform you that effective immediatelyi will no longer serve the states of georgiaflorida virginia north and south carolina tennessee mississippi texas and arkansas on christmas eve. due to the overwhelming current population of the earth my contract was renegotiated by north american fairies and elves local 209. as part of the new and better contract i also get longer breaks for milk and cookies so keep that in mind. however im certain that your children will be in good hands with your local replacement who happens to be my third cousin bubba claus. his side of the family is from the south pole. he shares my goal of delivering toys to all the good boys and girls; however there are a few differences between us. differences such as 1. there is no danger of the grinch stealing your presents from bubba claus. he has a gun rack on his sleigh and a bumper sticker that readsthese toys insured by smith and wesson. 2. instead of milk and cookies bubba claus prefers that children leave an rc cola and pork rinds or a moon pie on the fireplace. and bubba doesnt smoke a pipe. he dips a little snuff though so please have an empty spit can handy. 3. bubba claus sleigh is pulled by floppy-eared flyin coon dogs instead of reindeer. i made the mistake of loaning him a couple of my reindeer one time and blitzens head now overlooks bubbas fireplace. 4. you wont hear on comet on cupid on donner and blitzen.. when bubba claus arrives. instead youll hear on earnhardt on andretti on elliott and petty. 5. ho ho ho! has been replaced by yee haw! and you also are likely to hear bubbas elves respond i herd dat! 6. as required by southern highway laws bubba claus sleigh does have a yosemite sam safety triangle on the back with the words back off. 7. the usual christmas movie classics such as miracle on 34th street and its a wonderful life will not be shown in your negotiated viewing area. instead youll see boss hogg saves christmas and smokey and the bandit iv featuring burt reynolds as bubba claus and dozens of state patrol cars crashing into each other. 8. bubba claus doesnt wear a belt. if i were you id make sure you the wife and the kids turn the other way when he bends over to put presents under the tree. sincerely yours santa claus ps.. what is on your dodge want list -- fmb only one b in fmb .

budd cochran wrote he is spouting considerable erroneous information based on his claimed electrical engineering degree and supposed experience. thats very interesting budd ................ maybe you might explain the difference between steves supposed experience and your supposed experience and how we mortals in a group can tell the difference in a typed post that is submitted here. btw he never said he had a electrical engineering degree. he never even mentioned degree though i assume he has a few. did you even read his post.............. blowing your own horn all the time doesnt make a person a professional or even knowledgeable. i still think his post was well written and polite. i for one appreciated it for a change. you can think as you please. jerry .

that will really be hard to do if it still has the mopar alternator and regulator . . the regulator usually black in color is on the firewall and has a two wire plug on it. now if its a gm single wire system i think they can be changed but ive not been into one in years. in this case it will be really hard to do since the voltage regulator is integrated in the pcm or as we called em back then sbec. that didnt happen until 92 87 will still have the firewall mounted separate regulator. .

anyone with pre 2000 vehicles feel slighted that the safety recall d47 did not include their vehicles. upper ball joints are the same as those on the 2000 - 2003 models. i was just advised by the dealer my 1999 dakota needed the ball joints replaced with just 79k kilometers on it. i talked to chrysler canada and was told by amy tough luck but my vehicle is not included. i said the owners of pre 2000 dakotas should be given the same considerations for safety recalls as anyone else no so according to amy. end of discussion. any ideas on getting some action .

you can still install an aftermarket voltage reg. someone posted the directions on here a few weeks ago. that will really be hard to do if it still has the mopar alternator and regulator . . the regulator usually black in color is on the firewall and has a two wire plug on it. now if its a gm single wire system i think they can be changed but ive not been into one in years. in this case it will be really hard to do since the voltage regulator is integrated in the pcm or as we called em back then sbec. mike -- budd whats the difference between a bad golfer and a bad skydiver one goes whack darn and the other goes darn whack. is it possible to replace the internal voltage regulator in the alternator or must i just replace the alternator too thanks lee .

my 63 dart has an inline unit on a heater hose. dad plumbed it in to draw water off the lower side of the cylinder bank. its mounted vertically. id get a pic of it but in his last years he used the old girl as a set of shelves. hopefully this spring will bring a cleanout. maybe by end of summer ill have new frame pieces welded in so the torsion bars work again. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

on wed 15 dec 2004 204654 gmt tbone t-bonenospam@nc.rr.com wrote time to further your education again sheeesh . . . and you claim to be such a great mechanic. and by this crap you posted below far more of one than you. while i admit that my thoughts were wrong concerning flow in relation to the bypass they were no where near as bogus as this crap from you. the bypass allows coolant flow to the heater core for faster heat to the drivers compartment hahahahahahahahaha!!!! the heater core coolant lines and the bypass are in parallel with each other so how exactly does it do this sorry budd but you simply dont know wtf you are talking about. the purpose of the bypass it to allow the coolant to flow within the engine bypassing the radiator when the thermostat is closed to allow a normal warmup and prevent hot spots and engine damage. on the moderns dc products the heater circuit also does this all of the time but on the older models there was a valve that shut the flow to the heater core off and when it was closed the bypass was the only path to keep the water moving. this is where my thoughts were in error as i didnt take into account that the bypass actually bypasses the radiator and its hoses but at least i know what the bypass actually does. hey tom you are back huh no since that would indicate that i had at some time left. tell me what insatiable need do you have to be an automotive expert none at all. ive noticed that when someone anyone posts here with a problem you are on it literally like stink on shit. then you would once again be deluding yourself. the problem is that you always end up in a pissing match. well yea but i have not been the one starting them lately. you post then someone posts to correct something that you said and then you get your panties in a bunch and the fight is on. now you are deluding yourself again. i asked a question and instread of gettin a valid reply i recieved a childish attack which was also completely incorrect. im just curious. complete bs. you are just trying to start trouble and are nmot man enough to admit to it. through all of this you continue to post and to argue to assert your knowledge of mechanics. then you end up with nothing but the edge of semantics to argue about really care to back that up. as you cry and whine that you were misunderstood and that you alone had the right answer. it just goes on and on. then why do you bother to read it at all. it just makes me wonder what kind of life you have when you have to act like you do in order to demand attention for your expertise or your imaginary expertise. and yet here you are and posting in it without so much as a lime of knowlege on the subject. what kind of life do you have that you need to take the other side in the hope of finding some friends the fact that i have a life is the reason that you dont see me post much. what about you i thought that you were part of the group that was going to boycot me. it seems that miles is the only one with spine enough out of you four or five to actually do it. just saying tom thats all. no you are just trying to start trouble in your typical cowardly way. now go grab that new gun of yours and get back under the bed. there may be a terrorist within 1000 miles that you need to hide from. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

you didnt do shit and are now backpedaling like a bat out of hell because you were wrong and your own research now proves it. have you checked out new ventures website i have. nv244 has two configurations its pretty plain by looking at the site. i said in the beginning that the computer determined which wheel gets the torque and that would be wrong. what you said was which ever the computer feels like. even if computer controlled thats an incorrect response to how does it work which was the first question. lastly the computer cannot select torque/power division at the axle at least not yet. thus whichever wheel is incorrect. long winded bs description of 20 year old technology and insisted that is what it had incorrect i asked the op if it was computer controlled or strictly mechanical. immediately after that i looked up new venture to see if they had a beast that used a computer. you jumped in feet first and i handed you a dose of your own medicine while continuing to ask questions of the op to determine what he had. maybe you should actually read what im typing. and i was wrong you are. your current research now shows that it is an active controlled transfer case no my current resaerch shows it could be active or passive computer control as described at new ventures site. have ya checked that yet ive mentioned it three times now maybe its important for you to read the info there before you continue. face it maxi the fact that nobody jumped in to back you up shows that you are full of shit and were wrong. funny i think the post right after your bs post was someone saying max is right. second i described awd and 4wd systems showing a difference and asking which the truck actually had. you really need to read. third you claimed awd and ft4wd are the same thing. they are not. awd uses computer control to direct power while ft4wd uses mechanical means to allow driving conditions to range from dry to slippery. i further mentioned that there were a few mechanical systems that had viscous clutches that could be called awd. its all there in my second or third post. go back and read. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

had a similar problem with my 01 ram. it turned out to be bad idler arm and pitman arm on passenger side of truck. would shake and vibrate between 45 to 60. as long as i drove it 30 or 80 mph it was fine. bk on sat 11 dec 2004 165829 -0500 roy roy@home.net wrote maxpower wrote been awhile since i worked on trucks but let me put my 2 cents in it you say speed sensitive and meaning engine can you tach it up at idle to make the vibration to isolate the trans-driveshaft-wheels. i mean if it does it without moving that would narrow it down to maybe the torque convertor/engine/pulleys if it does it at highway speeds can you put it in neutral to isolate trans-and engine while crusing at highway speeds that would leave drive shaft-rear end-wheels and i dont know if they have the button still on those trucks like my 95 but can you kick it out of overdrive glenn beasley chrysler tech no more dodge trucks well the shop is stumped. according to them they have done all that the factory recommended and it still vibrates. pretty much highway speeds. feel it in seat/floor/and steering wheel. shop mgr says it may be engine had the same thing and it was the exhaust. remove the muffler and see what happens. roy gary supposedly the shop did all the above. i did the overdrive and throwing it into neutral while vibrating. continued even when in neutral. if that is the case then the engine was back at idle. so doubrful it is the exhaust. try a couple of worm clamps on your drive shaft. put them side by side and see if the vibration changes. if so. move them halfway around the shaft and see what happens. roy .

mopar man wrote about premature wear and failure of upper ball joints in durango/dakota. its about time dc did something about this. problem is seems it should include 96-99 vehicles as well. i remember a paper article about a guy that went to dc to get them to repair the dammage caused by a wheel that flipped out because it came out of the ball joint. i think at first dcx refused then they said they would if signed an agreement that he would never publicize the incident. he refused and had a private garage repair it and then he went public. dc definately gets a black eye over this one. so much for customer service... whats even worse is some idiot on this group defended the ball joints... i had to replace mine 3 times on my 98 durango. i sold the durango and got a 2003 4 runner. 0 problems for the two years that i owned it. .

i usually see something like traction control stabil-a-trac or some other whiz-bang name for the intelligent management of power. intelligent management of power is where i draw the line of difference between awd and ft4wd. my initial question was if the op truck was a true awd or simply in ft4wd continuously. this was something that tbone was kind enough to stick his foot into his mouth about while i actually looked up the nv244 to see if it had intelligent 4wd as a configuration. as it turns out it does. however tbone has conveniently denied this even after i gave him a hint that i did the research to answer my own question. you didnt do shit and are now backpedaling like a bat out of hell because you were wrong and your own research now proves it. i said in the beginning that the computer determined which wheel gets the torque and you went into a long winded bs description of 20 year old technology and insisted that is what it had and i was wrong. your current research now shows that it is an active controlled transfer case and not the 20 year old crap you initially claimed and that i was right. face it maxi the fact that nobody jumped in to back you up shows that you are full of shit and were wrong. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
