Q: ok now i am getting in to the little stuff that drives me nuts. the ram is awesome and i will never go back to gas again. i am a diesel head forever. but i cant shut off the stupid horn chirp when i am locking the doors. i have asked the dealer and all he said was to rtfm. brilliant................ it says to stand outside the vehicle hold the lock button for 4 seconds but less then 10 then press the panic button and then to let go of both at the same time. the wife and i have both tried it at least a dozen times. we have reread the manual probably that many times as well. no luck. i am thinking the manual is wrong but i have no idea what key combination will shut off the chirp. i did it in my 92 dakota my 02 ram and my 04 ram with no problems. any ideas wayne i kept going on google and finally got a hit at http//www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/showthread.phpt=149133 it seems that this is a feature that cannot be disabled like the manual describes. i hope i find the guy who told me to read the manual. if anyone does know of a fix. let me know. thanks wayne took it to the dealer. it took the guy about 10 minutes as he couldnt find it in the starscan menu. he told me that there is some sort of bug in the programming for the 5.9 ctd 2500 ram. oh well didnt cost anything othere then my time wayne .

checked the shock bolts when i had the cvs off they are as tight as could be the truck has 115k on it maybe time for new shocks thanks what only 115k nah.... they should be good for at least 200k if not more..... ^ on that size vehicle stock shocks are good for between 60k-80k depending. the same guy with the clunking sway bar finally got tired of bouncing around like a cessna in a tropical storm and put on a new set of shocks. big difference in ride quality. you dont notice the degradation much as its so gradual like the proverbial frog in boiling water but youll certainly notice the improvement. .

don wrote help ive been getting a rather loud clicking/clunking from the front end of my 2001 dodge dakota sport 5.9l quad cab. already the transfer case and the cv drive axles have been replaced and still the noise continues but now the noise seems to be centralized only on the driver side of the truck as before it could be heard thru out the front end. the noise can only be heard when the truck is in drive and moving so it has been hard to pin it down. any suggestions anyone can offer or if you have had this problem please let me know what to do. thank you for any help you may offer check the shock absorber mount bolts. if they arent tight enough they will cause a clunk or rattle noise. -- ken checked the shock bolts when i had the cvs off they are as tight as could be the truck has 115k on it maybe time for new shocks thanks .

i am pretty sure my problem is the compressorbut i want more expert opinions before going ahead and buying one. i have an 01 dakota3.9l 65000 miles. the ac is blowing neutral to warm air.i checked the refrigerant leveli get 45-55 psi on it while the compressor is under loadwhich is pretty good if memory serves me right. i checked the fusesall good. is there anything else it could be or other things that go bad a lot in this model and year of dakota had i read the forums last year when i bought it usedi wouldnt have bought it but i gotta make the best of it now.it runs welljust is hot as hell now. .
