Q: the rear mount of the lf spring is all rusted out--has anyone else encountered this and fixed it would like to get someones ideas as to how to do it !!! thanks. .

on sep 14 454=a0pm tom lawrence tlawren...@earthlink.not wrote the rear mount of the lf spring is all rusted out--has anyone else encountered this and fixed it =a0would like to get someones ideas as to how to do it !!! =a0thanks. your subject says the left-rear spring your text is talking about the left-front. =a0which is it =a0since youre talking about a rear mount i= m going to assume youre talking about the rear leaf spring. =a0is it the shackle thats rusted or the spring hanger thats attached to the frame if its the shackle thats easy - unbolt it and bolt on a new one. =a0if= its the spring hanger its riveted to the frame. =a0you grind off/knock off = the rivet heads drive the rivet bodies out and separate the hanger from the frame rail. =a0you then bolt in a new one. thanks for your response although this is a unibody vehicle. indeed it is the lr spring and the hanger that attaheces to the frame etc. is what is rused and has collapsed. the dodge dealer says that part is no longer available. on body on frmae vehicles it is obvious as to how to replace this item. on this vehicle it appears that this hanger/box is welded to the underbody in several places. has anyone had any first-hand experience doing this repair on this series of full-size vans .
