greg surratt wrote i still say that switching from the horsepower rating to the torque rating was marketing hype to allow them to use the bigger more impressive number. not really. torque has always been the dominant factor in my truck buying for many years. hp doesnt mean anything if the torque isnt there to pull the load. jerry .

i have researched it and no i dont own one and no i dont want to boost one further. i am a hd mechanic at a diesel engine shop i was conversing with someone and the topic came up. my boss has said already that is the max boost output for the engine. i was looking for a 3rd party confirmation. it is not listed on the cummins website with engine specs. so short of calling cummins directly i went to my computer to use the information superhighway i thought someone might know already as theres some pretty smart people around here. not someone look it up for me. demon wrote can anyone see this or does no body know for sure. 40 psi max boost from the holset variable geometry turbocharger does anyone know what this unit puts out for boost. ive heard 40psi any truth there thanks yes we can see your post no we are not responding. its the old if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all idea here. ether no one that has seen your post so far knows like me or they dont want to research it right now for you. also the subject may have something to do with it. when i first read the subject line first thing that came to mind was hmm why do you want to boost the 600 further .

does anyone know what this unit puts out for boost. ive heard 40psi any truth there in stock form boot will peak in the low 30s. this is higher than the non-600 isbe engines which would peak in the middle 20s. ive heard of guys running as much as 38psi through the stock 600 turbos by using an aftermarket boost elbow along with an electronic box but this is beyond what the turbo was designed to do and will damage the turbo after prolonged use. .
