the other day i was down at the library looking through some hardcover chilton/motors professional manuals i happened to look under 1980 motorhome engines. there was a 446 listed. from some information i read years ago i had always believed it was a 440 bored .030 over from the factory. i got to looking at the bore and stroke which were listed at 4.125 and 4.18 respectively. there was no picture of the engine only a partial illustration showing it had spread port intake ports such as a big block chevy uses not the siamese ports typical passenger/truck chrysler engines used is this one of those weird chrysler industrial engines such as the 361 industrial or 413 industrial with a longer stroke anyone ever seen one of these close up and personal politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

that would never happen. waay too heavy. gotta have a flat piece of tin so my skinny postierior can slide around... besides the ole horse aint no sissy!!! vbg is that a way of moving weight around while pulling thats how you steer the sucker by shifting your weight from side to side and from front to rear so the front tires are just skimming the ground. if so maybe roy could use such a system on his atv while plowing bg that wouldnt work at all. as soon as ole roy shifted over it would pop the tires on that side. the tonnage must be kept evenly distributed to all four tires. i spose hed sissy out and complain his puddintapioca cheeks are cold g the wuss!! denny politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

i see no one answered my question. thanks anyway. get a 30a automotive relay from radio shack. connect terminal #86 to the fused side of fuse g in the pdc the fused side is the terminal that does not have voltage on it when you remove the fuse. connect terminal #85 of the relay to the violet/white wire coming from the headlight splice it inline. remove the fog lamp relay from the pdc. connect the new relays #30 terminal to the #30 terminal in the pdc where the fog lamp relay used to plug into. connect terminal #87 on the new relay to ground. now what will happen is when the headlamps come on the violet/white wire will be grounded through the headlamp switch. this will energize the new relay connecting terminal #30 to #87. this will provide a ground path for the fog lamps and theyll come on. you could just re-use the fog lamp relay but its a miniature relay without a mounting tab so it would be more difficult to mount. note that this will not allow you to turn your fog lamps on independently from the headlamp switch ie. just parking lamps and fog lamps as was intended. personally i dont think this is a good idea. youre taking away some functionality and the only thing youre gaining is added convenience of not pulling on the switch when you turn it. however you asked how it could be done - heres your answer. .

thanks joe ok. anyway! you can just replace the head unit just make sure you connect the blue wire on the harness from the new radio to the blue wire on the harness adaptor for the truck. hi joe thanks for the input. what if i just want to replace the head unit and keep all else the same iow wire the new head to the infinity amp etc big deal does crutchfiels have a harness for it thanks. --mike all true. because the oem head unit infinity amp and factory crossovers are all hooked into the factory harness its necessary to rewire right from the new head unit to an aftermarket amp if applicable to the new crossovers and to the new speakers. its not a trivial job but probably worth it if the new components are decent. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 5.0 mustang lx hatch with a few goodies azwiley1 azwiley1@spamearthblowslynk.net wrote in michael i have been doing car audio for almost 13 years a lot on and off but none the less i can tell you it is not as easy as just installing a new head unit. each vehicle is different. the problem lies here though if you install say the alpine cda-9811 am/fm/cd/mp3/wma player w/built in eq and crossover which is a 50x4 unit and you connect the amp trigger lines together guess what you just negated the power on the deck and are only using the amp in the truck. you have to completely by pass the amp in the truck by running new wires to the speakers to tapping in to the factory wires past the amp to use the features of the new unit. the same would apply if you added a new amp to the new deck. hope this helps and clears it up some. hi joe so would replacing the head unit be a simple exercise if the amp is seperate i want a unit that will play mp3s on a cd. the stock unit on my 03 will not. it is the infinity system btw. --mike iamgoode@aol.com iamgoode wrote in im looking to upgrade my factory stereo ive blown 3 infinity speakers now and im ready for something else. i want to replace the front speakers wtih better quality but the same size and put something a little larger in the back doors its a quad cab. my questions are does the back speaker set up have a cross over in the premium factory system would seperates or coaxial work better in the back anyone have luck running any larger speakers under the factory grilles recommended wattage ratings thanks. sean rec.bicycles.marketplace the 00 dak sound system is similar to the 03 which is what i have. the basic layout is this stock oem head unit about 5 watts/channel rms speaker leads feed the infinity amp about 15 watts/channel rms in the passenger kick panel which in turn drives the speakers. btw the infinity amp is very heavily eqd to compensate for the lousy speakers. in the cc the front speakers are components whereas the rears are simply coaxial. dont know about the qc rears but the fronts are the same. the crossovers are somewhere in the wiring between the speakers and the infinity amp which is garbage btw. assuming youre not going with a subwoofer your best bet is to get a new head unit an aftermarket amp if you can afford it and 4 component speakers. components will almost always sound better than coaxials - you just need adequate power for them. on the qc the woofer size is 6-3/4 all around. some components come with tweeters mounted in the woofer others have separate tweeters like the fronts in your qc. regardless theyll all have crossovers. either way youll be able to find components that can fit. also make sure you get adquate wiring based on your amps rating. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies .

well i guess no one has had or seen this problem and that is a good thing. if a bunch of you had seen the same problem id have to stop telling my chevy and ford truck loving friends how great dodge trucks are these days. cheers john i have a 1998 durango with the 360. a while back the gas guage started acting up when the gas level reached 1/4 tank. at that point the guage would alternate between reading 1/4 tank and well below empty not energized. this flip-flop would happen every minute or so. with the low fuel chime sounding every time the guage dropped below empty i was motivated to head straight to a gas station. on one occasion i was unable to pull over for gas. running late i decided to put up with the periodic chime alerts. on that 40 minute trip i developed another problem. i think they may be connected. i suspect that the flip-flopping guage and chime caused an electrical surge damaging another circuit. now my abs and parking brake idiot lights stay on all the time and my speedometer quit working. all this happened in one instant during a flip-flop. later i discovered that the door locks no longer lock automatically at 15 mph. ive checked fuses etc without finding a problem. i replaced the speed sensor but didnt get my speedometer back. anybody seen something similar to this have any ideas im ready to give up looking for the problem. thanks john .

you may want to check the fuel line that runs from the pump to the metal line along the frame if youre having pressure problems. the one on my truck ended up getting kinked cutting off flow. looked like it got weak over time and just kinked-up somehow. caused a lot of headaches until i found it and it is hard to see with the tank mounted up. just a thought may save you pump money if its like mine was. i replaced my pump anyway while i was there cause around here once you walk out with an electrical part you own it. how much is a fuel pump for this vehicle anyone got an esitmate how about the expense to have it put in...do you have to drop the fuel tank bb so you think my fuel pump is the culprit no way to check it but put one in right i just paid it off it was a second hand truck and this started... bill if you are sure that it is not getting fuel into the fuel rail when it acts up what the hell does a magnetic pickup in the distributor have to do with that that pickup as you call it is the camshaft position sensor and controls the fuel injection synchronization. this could be the problem with the ops engine and possibly yours but it has no control over the fuel pump itself other to indicate to the pcm to shut it down. if you are sure that you are not getting fuel into the rail and you can hear the pump running then your problem is in the pump itself no if and or butts about it. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving dont feel badi have a 96 doing exactly the same thing. i did notice that i could let it sit and idle all day but once i drove it a certain distance it would mess up just as you describe. yours may not be flooding as mine doesnt get any fuel into the fuel rail when it acts up but the pump can still be heard running when it does this so i bet thats what yours is doing too. i put a new coil on after i was told that was the problem but it wasnt. the voltage to the fuel pump seems good too so im not going to put a $200+ pump in it until absolutely positive. my next try is going to be the magnetic pickup under the distributor for shits & giggles as i have a new one available so well see. im just not in the mood to play with that damn cap/rotor again tough to get at...but i will. hello...i have a 1995 dodge 4x4. recently after a trip down the freeway i turned off and started up a mountain highway and suddenly my truck seemed to lose all power. i pulled off the road and it sat and idled but it was running very badly. if i tried to give it gas it would act as though it was flooding...it would begin to rev up but after it got to a certain point it would run very bad. i called a tow truck and while waiting i started it back up and it seemed to be running normal. i drove back off the mountain and met the tow truck at the freeway. he followed me back home almost 20 miles at which point it did the same again. we put it on his tow truck and he carried me the rest of the way to his shop. when we started the truck to remove it from the tow truck it ran beautifully and hasnt had another episode since...but ive not driven it any farther than about 5 miles from my house. ive searched the google groups for like problems and possible answers...until i came across this group. im hoping someone here can assist me with the problem. i did take the truck to a local repair shop where they let it run almost all day in order to get hot and happen again but it didnt happen and he has no idea what it might be... probably wasnt good for it to sit and run all day im not sure. anyway any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks for any assistance! bill .

just an update dealer calls back and says he has to charge me $100 for delivery so i told him to cancel the order and hung up. he calls back today i tell him if he wants to sell that tractor i will cut him a check right now for $21500 out the door. he says you will have to pay tax and i told him $21500 out the door thats it and hung up again. he just called me again and said yea its a deal. what a pain but we will have it in two weeks. randy yes that sounds about right. hydro is it syncro or hydro drive thanks for the advice guys. now another question! i have a dealer that quoted me $21986 for a new 4210 deere with 420 loader back hoe loaded ag tires free delivery to my door. this is considerably less than some of the other dealers. does this sound like a fair deal randy my dad is retired now and wants to spend my inheritance on toys. he told me to shop for a utility tractor with a front loader and a back-hoe in the 18-30 hp range. we are looking at kubota and john deere as there are no other brand dealers within reasonable distance from us. does anyone have any experience with this type of small tractor. is the deere that much better than the kubota to justify the 30% price difference do the kubotas hold up under moderate usage any advice appreciated. randy .

hi ive just bought a 04 ram 1500 quad cab and am very happy with it. i have an 8 year old daughter who goes everywhere with me and i need to disconnect the passenger side air bag to make it legal and safe for her to ride in the front with me. the quad cabs dont have the key switch in the dash supposed to stick the kids in the back seat. i think i found the plug above the glove box yellow with an orange plastic tab but am unsure about messing around with it and getting the bag to function with my noggin right in front of it. is this the right plug how do the air bags actuate thanks merlin. merlin if you are so concerned for her safety as you appear to be then put her in the back seat where she will be safer. quit trying to beat the safety system in the truck. if something happens i hope nothing does and she gets hurt in the front seat you will alway wonder if it was partially or fully your fault for not having her in the back where she belongs. -- fmb only one b in fmb .

hi joe so would replacing the head unit be a simple exercise if the amp is seperate i want a unit that will play mp3s on a cd. the stock unit on my 03 will not. it is the infinity system btw.
