Corrosion rears it's ugly little head

From : nosey

Q: today while poking around under the hood of my 99 ram i found the lower section of the grill support frame corroded in about 6 places. this is the black square tubing that the grill is mounted on. it was hiding fairly well but the small rust stains on the inside of the lower chrome grill surface led me to inspect a bit further. im not saying that the truck is going to fall apart because of this but the corrosion is advancing. the truck is only about 5 years old and is normally driven in the south no snow on the roads to salt. i can save the part by removing the corrosion and re-painting it but it probably wouldnt have lasted another 5 years without losing most of its structural integrity. those of you in the salt belt may want to pay close attention to this area on your rams. i wonder what other easily overlooked places are prone to corrosion. .
