Q: depends on location but heres my answer. mine did the same thing. i lived near the ocean. there was corrosion in the swith itself for the drivers side. i suspect this was due to the fact the drivers side door sees more outside time than the passenger side. i took out the switch and traded it for the passenger side to test my theory. it worked fine. i meticulous as i am took the thing apart to fix it and broke it. bought a new one for 42.00. good luck. jon a. skelton lt nc usnr .
