i got a 2002 1500 qc 5 speed 4x4 4.7 l in feb 2002. am up to 20000 miles at this point. i have gotten as good as 20 mpg a couple of times when i was on country roads at 60 mph or less. i recently added a shell cap that extends about 6 inches above the cab roof. believe that cost me a mpg. probably should have gotten one that was flush with the cab top but this one holds our bikes upright. i have the stock 3.55 rear end. if i were doing it over i would go for the 3.90. it is pulling pretty hard on uphills at highway speed. 70 mph is only about 2000 rpm which puts it pretty far down on the torque curve. i would be surprised if the 3.90 changed the mpg noticably. the heaviest load that i pull is about 4500 lbs sailboat. mostly in 4 th on the highway. that is good for about 13 mpg at 60 mph. also pull a 2500 lbs sail boat and get about the same mpg. by the way the brakes on this truck are great. mpm xshkb.400922$lnr1.283424@01.bloor.is.net.cable.rogers. com ronzo rs.del@rogers.com wrote i am considering a new full size four door doge ram 4x4. i would like it with a manual 5 speed. if anyone out there has a set-up like this could you give me some feed back as to how the gas mileage is how stiff the clutch may be how reliable it has been and if you have enjoyed it so far. thanks; ron michael moorman durham nc .

letsrig@c+o+x.net glenn woodell wrote the oxygen sensor on my 07 dakota 4.7 just gave an error resulting in my engine light coming on. i found out that a new sensor is between $65 and $144 depending on what type i need and where i get it. also it looks like i might need two of them. i have 43000 miles on this motor. is this something that i am likely to have to replace every two to three years are they easy to change any good sources for one/two glenn damn i think i over slept! .
