snip i can say that this work ethic seems to be a dying breed around here these days. id just like to know if it is more about the attitude than the number of hours on the job. motorcity i think its more the attitude than the hours. for the past 13 years i have been the network guru in a small manufacturing plant. it was nothing for me to come in 1 or 2 saturdays a month for 4 to 10 hours and work long hours during the week. i didnt mind even though i am paid salary because it was part of the job thats what i needed to do to make changes or repairs to the network and frankly i loved what i was doing. then when the manufacturing sector crashed around 9-11 there were a number of lay-offs and jobs were consolidated. not only was my job the network but now i had to unload trucks pull parts for assembly jobs put other parts away and other to me bs jobs that we could have kept one person to do. my attitude went down the tubes along with network consistency and other things hard for one person to do 2-1/2 jobs. its not that i minded the physical labor- i worked my way up from machinist 5 years to nc programmer 2 years to network administrator. it was just that after business picked back up there was no one hired back in my department and we were expected to work overtime to cover what needed to be done. i use any excuse i can

i got my new superchips tuner/programmer last friday. i installed the canned performance program for my 5.7 hemi magnum in my 2003 2500hd ram with automatic 5 speed transmission and .373 rear end. i filled her up with 34 gallons of premium unleaded and headed 250 miles away to my deer lease. the truck ran great and the new shift points and the improved rev limits were a welcome change from the weird shifting pattern this truck has with the stock program. i actually had to push down on the accelerator some to get the thing to kick into passing gear instead of just barely touching the pedal before i made the change. i was impressed. i drove about 800 miles since then and have averaged 13.2 mpg where i was getting 14.5 normally and 8.5 towing. tonight i reprogrammed the truck for the improved performance for 87 octane changed the speed limit to 140 mph and increased the rpm limit to 500 over the custom settings. ill fill up in the morning with cheaper gas and see what happens. even if i dont get any improvement in the gas mileage i will be happy if the transmission shift pattern stays similar to what it was with the performance program. ill try the tow program thanksgiving week when i go on another hunting vacation. fyi.... -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .
