Q: we have a 89 dakota pu. since weve had it theres been that stupid maint req light. can a plain old joe like me reset this light or do i need spend $80 at the squeelership thanks jqp .

ive either removed the bulb or put a piece of strategically placed electrical tape over the offending maintenance lights. according to the manual for my old 1990 dakota there was some sort of plastic box close to the light switch which had a small hole in it. inserting the end of a paper clip into the hole would reset the maintenance light. i could never find anything like that so i removed the bulb instead. my current jeep uses the electrical tape method... jeff john q public wrote we have a 89 dakota pu. since weve had it theres been that stupid maint req light. can a plain old joe like me reset this light or do i need spend $80 at the squeelership thanks jqp .
