ferrari3@gmail.com wrote hi all how do i turn off the check engine light the car wont pass inspection with it on. i tried disconnecting the battery but nothing happened. i found some check engine code readers/erasers on ebay here http//stores.ebay.com/onesmartmove has anyone tried similar one thanks how long did you leave the battery disconnected on the dakotas you have to leave them disconnected for a good 5 or maybe 10 minutes before it resets the computer and then it will turn off the light. i dont know if its the same for you car or not but give it a try. you can also go to auto zone or similar store and they will turn it off with one of there readers and most of the time they don it for free. brian .

kvh wrote the oil pressure reads 25 idling and about 45 at highway speeds. sometimes running at highway speeds it will show 25 and minutes later it will go back to 45 lbs. it does not change if you slip it in neutral and rev the engine. nothing sounds like low oil pressure no loud valves or bearing even at start up. any sugestion as what the problem may be thanks had a problem like that on a 98 dakota. oil pressure would be about the same as yours and change going down the road. put a new sending unit and it still did the same thing. turns out it was the oil filter and it was a brand new fram. went and got a wix filter and oil pressure jumped up to almost 55 to 60 psi- the highest its ever been. the wix oil filter solved the problem- so try a wix filter. brian 92 power ram150 93 power ram 350 ctd .
