ok i went to the dealer first just to see if my truck were still under warranty only to find out that the warranty had expired in march but the person who usually writes up vehicles coming in for service said that theyve been having vacuum leaks showing up on trucks like mine and that hed show me where the problem usually is. anyway i was in a hurry so i told him id get back with him. well sure enough i went to autozone and had them hook up my truck to their computer and it said that i had an evaporative leak so it appears the dealer was correct. it would seem like to me if this has been happening enough that the dealer already had a good idea of where the problem was that there ought to be a recall or something. before i go back to the dealer to see where they think the leak will be i figured i may as well ask you guys first. so wheres the vacuum leaks on these 01 dakotas with 4.7s and if there isnt a recall on this problem then why isnt there dyno dynosaur dynosaur@removewolfplayer.us wrote in ive got an 01 dakota 4x4 with the 4.7 liter and auto trans. its only got 31k miles on it and just a couple months out of warranty. anyway how do i get my truck to give me the trouble code that has caused the light to come on thanks dyno http//faq.dakota-truck.net/electronics/getcodes.html hth. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies .

i finally decided to look under the hood myself before taking it to the dealer and i could hear the vacuum leak so i kept looking until i saw a hose on the drivers side that had a egr service port kind of tee and on one side of that tee a hose had split down both sides so i cut off the bad end of the hose and slid the hose back up onto that tee and now i need to know how to reset the computer so that the check engine light will go off. so how do you reset the computer thanks much. dyno my dak had a cel a few months ago indicating an emissions problem. turned out it was a bad gas cap. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies dynosaur dynosaur@removewolfplayer.us wrote in ok i went to the dealer first just to see if my truck were still under warranty only to find out that the warranty had expired in march but the person who usually writes up vehicles coming in for service said that theyve been having vacuum leaks showing up on trucks like mine and that hed show me where the problem usually is. anyway i was in a hurry so i told him id get back with him. well sure enough i went to autozone and had them hook up my truck to their computer and it said that i had an evaporative leak so it appears the dealer was correct. it would seem like to me if this has been happening enough that the dealer already had a good idea of where the problem was that there ought to be a recall or something. before i go back to the dealer to see where they think the leak will be i figured i may as well ask you guys first. so wheres the vacuum leaks on these 01 dakotas with 4.7s and if there isnt a recall on this problem then why isnt there dyno dynosaur dynosaur@removewolfplayer.us wrote in ive got an 01 dakota 4x4 with the 4.7 liter and auto trans. its only got 31k miles on it and just a couple months out of warranty. anyway how do i get my truck to give me the trouble code that has caused the light to come on thanks dyno http//faq.dakota-truck.net/electronics/getcodes.html hth. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies .

most obdii engine codes will clear themselves after 1 to 3 complete engine cycles depending on what the code is for. sean 99tj 04 hemi ram i finally decided to look under the hood myself before taking it to the dealer and i could hear the vacuum leak so i kept looking until i saw a hose on the drivers side that had a egr service port kind of tee and on one side of that tee a hose had split down both sides so i cut off the bad end of the hose and slid the hose back up onto that tee and now i need to know how to reset the computer so that the check engine light will go off. so how do you reset the computer thanks much. dyno my dak had a cel a few months ago indicating an emissions problem. turned out it was a bad gas cap. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies dynosaur dynosaur@removewolfplayer.us wrote in ok i went to the dealer first just to see if my truck were still under warranty only to find out that the warranty had expired in march but the person who usually writes up vehicles coming in for service said that theyve been having vacuum leaks showing up on trucks like mine and that hed show me where the problem usually is. anyway i was in a hurry so i told him id get back with him. well sure enough i went to autozone and had them hook up my truck to their computer and it said that i had an evaporative leak so it appears the dealer was correct. it would seem like to me if this has been happening enough that the dealer already had a good idea of where the problem was that there ought to be a recall or something. before i go back to the dealer to see where they think the leak will be i figured i may as well ask you guys first. so wheres the vacuum leaks on these 01 dakotas with 4.7s and if there isnt a recall on this problem then why isnt there dyno dynosaur dynosaur@removewolfplayer.us wrote in ive got an 01 dakota 4x4 with the 4.7 liter and auto trans. its only got 31k miles on it and just a couple months out of warranty. anyway how do i get my truck to give me the trouble code that has caused the light to come on thanks dyno http//faq.dakota-truck.net/electronics/getcodes.html hth. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies .
