Q: max340 wrote the presidents choice of the national guard like many americans during the viet nam era says nothing of his character but your statement says a lot about yours. actually it says a bunch about how the wealthy spend cash to keep their kids from harms way while the working class kids shoulder the burden. funny how when gwb does it its called class but when any number of wealthy democrats do it its called deserter or draft dodger. sure max it take a lot of money to get into the guard these days. we are not talking about these days shit head. we are talking about a time of a heavy draft and needing money to avoid it short of going to canada. rest of senseless drivel snipped. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

while the deals look good this is old technology in most cases. one of the notebooks that they are selling ibm is the same one that i have and it is over 2 years old. the problem is that my notebook cannot hold a candle to what is being sold today in either speed or battery life. the list price they show for mine is what the list price was when it was new a few years ago when prices were much higher and i bought mine directly from ibm for much less than that. the price they are selling them for would be about what they would sell at normal retail now if they were still available. if all you ever intend to do with it is read cds then they should do just fine but you are getting what you paid for. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving im going to acquire a laptop shut up roy in the near future to keep at my box to read the service cds. i was looking at some of the factory reconditioned ones at www.overstock.com. am i doing something really stupid by getting one from there the prices seem good and most have a two year warranty. pro/cons anybody. thanks and to the group smart-asses they do not give discounts to people wearing bunny suits. denny .

need more info. is the truck a 1500..2500 what and what is the gear ratio what is the weight of the 5er i towed a 31ft. travel trailer for two years with a 991500 4x4 and it was scary! the brakes were insufficient at best. my truck had 355 ratio and was geared too high for that much weight. no power on hills and 7.5mpg while towing.the suspension wasnt stiff enough to control trailer sway though you wont get as much with a 5er. i will say this with the auxiliary tranny cooler from summit i never had any tranny problems despite working the truck hard. i loved that truck though it just wasnt equipped to do what i was needing it to do. a 2500 with a tranny cooler and lower gear ratio should pull a 31ft. fiver with little problem.do your homework on towing capacity and be safe. randy anyone towing a 5ver with a 2003 ram 4 x 4 and an automatic 47re transmission good or bad comments. looking for information before towing a 31 foot 5ver with the same power unit and trans combo. thanks! .

bryan swadener wrote also both are ...the american people are now conditioned to front-wheel drive and its superior handling in snow and ice... fwd gained popularity with automobile manufacturers due to ease of cheaper design and manufacturing; madison avenue sold it to america. it isnt better -- its just a *different* can of worms. just my observation and experience. a fwd vehicle certainly isnt easier to design or cheaper to build is it stuffing transmission and engine together then somehow bending drivetrain to the front wheels as well as addition of cv joints doesnt seem cheaper to me. i think he meant that it was easier to meet design criteria that stipulated in the late 70s that newer cars would have similar interior dimensions w/ much smaller exterior dimensions. with fwd packaging this was accomplished by removing the transmission hump and differential which was exemplified in the hatchbacks that were common then. the cars were also much lighter w/ smaller driveshafts and smaller differential. and fwd vehicles *do* have better winter traction. at least better than what the vehicle would have if the drive wheels were astern. whether that traction is good enough or not is another issue. i used to have a rwd car w/ posi and studded snow tires not all-season. id put that car up against any common fwd car in snowy/icy conditions. ;- .

if i was buying it local id go ahead and do it but i really hate spending that kind of $$ to somebody that i have no idea who or where it is. i think problems get handled better if youre looking somebody in the eye. denny electronics generally either fail early or they dont fail at all. i dont know what reconditioned means to the place selling the laptops you are looking at. any hard drive can crash new or used. a cd driver can stop driving but they cost what $10 and 10 minutes or so to replace for your useage go for it!!!!! g politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .
