Q: the mormon church needs to do more to clean up both inside they already have rules against polygamy. they will excommunicate any members who practice polygamy. tell me what more you would have them do and outside its own church. how are they supposed to clean up anything outside of their own church/control you cant just say they need to do something as if its their fault. if you think they need to do something just what specifically should they do youre trying to make it some sorta legal obligation i havent mentioned legalities at all i dont know where you got that from. im simply questioning your blanket criticism for areas in which they have absolutely no control. they set their rules and teach in accordance with them. the enforce their rules to include excommunicating those who dont follow them. what more can they possibly do if they want to gain in the publics eye then they need to take a more firm stance which they fail to do. what how much more firm can they be than kicking out members who violate the rules against polygamy they dont have the authority to flog them the most they can do is excommunicate them which they already do. i feel youre trying to blame the morman church for things that happen that are totally beyond their control. bull. if that were the case then the arrests and changes would be limited to only the actual teachers who committed the crime. this is simply not the case. each time a teacher is arrested quite a few school leaders up the ladder are scrutinized and policies changed within the school system. thats the same thing the mormon church needs to do a better job with and currently they fail at. i see. youre more interested in symbolism over substance. you want a feel good gesture. well unlike the public school system the mormon church isnt dependent upon popular elections. their policy is clear and effective for the most part. youre being unrealistic in your expectations youre blaming the mormon church for what individuals do that is against the mormon church. it makes no sense. i never once said the mormon church itself is guilty of polygamy when a member is. they are most certainly wrong if the department continually ignored a known problem and failed to take an active stance to prevent it. have you a documented incident to substantiate that they have ever done this otherwise your statement is empty. so long as the mormon church official policy is against polygamy and their teachings are consistant with their rules then you cannot hold them responsible for what people do on their own members or not as they are doing it in contradiction to the teachings practices and beliefs of the church.. youre confusing responsibility for an individual crime vs. responsibility towards policies that either ignorepromote or prevent such crimes. show me where they have not responsibly enforced their own policy. im betting that you cant. the mormon church fought that like crazy. they agreed in order for utah to become a state. however the practice of polygamy was well known to continue for many years within the church. it wasnt until numerous arrests were made that the fundamentalists fled to the az/ut border and created the flds. it was the law forcing it and not the church. youre actually arguing policy in place during the 1800s to prove your point for today not applicable at all. the church policy changed in order to keep within the law and it remains and is enforced today. what more do you want -- nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com http//1911talk.com http//glockcarry.com .

the fact is there is a connection there whether you the current administrators of the lds church or anyone else wants to admit it. do you have anything at all to substantiate that .....of course you dont. there is no connection. the flds church was founded by excommunicated mormons who were kicked out for practicing polygamy against the lds laws. your argument has absolutely no merit but that doesnt stop you from trying.....and making a fool of yourself in the process. -- nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com http//1911talk.com http//glockcarry.com .

azwiley1 wrote miles he is not wrong. they are getting the lake effect snows from lake ontario which does not freeze over like lake erie does. fyi erie has just recently froze over in late jan which is extremely odd for being so late a freeze. i realize that but the severe winter conditions are not isolated to just that one area. my response was to the claims regarding global warming causing the severe winters. as you pointed out ontario doesnt freeze over anyways. the lack of ice coverage isnt because of global warming as tbone tried to claim. talk to people in plain states and rocky mountain states! many areas have been hit hard with both heavy snows and frigid temps. .
