Can't get a 1500 without 20" wheels?

From : bob m

Q: whats up with those 20 ghetto wheels on all the 1500s went looking at new 04 rams at 3 different dealers in dallas last night. here we have a lonestar package which has always included the 20 wheels. but now i cant find a 1500 hemi either without the 20 wheels. dealer said i would need to either step up to a 2500 buy a cheap single cab 1500 or special order a new truck. i did find one dealer willing to swap wheels. are these things really that popular or are dealers forcing them on us because they cost more makes me want to hold onto my 01 ram 1500 a while longer. bob -- takeoff is an option. landing is a must! and in the end on wheels we will depend. .

thats right 16 inch rim wont fit on new ram unless you remove the brakes good luck getting a 15 or most 16 wheels over the brakes of a new ram. sean prinz wrote you only love them until the rubber needs replacing....i am glad my 04 1500 has 17s. price truck tires in a 20 size.....bfg ats are over 300 each.....as opposed to 189 for the same size for my 17 inch rims. my new policy is if i cant buy michelin ltx m/ss for less than $130 i dont need that rim size 16s are bad enough... nothing like a good ol 235/75r15. js .

i just bought a hemi ram 1500 quadcab 4x4 with offroad package and 17 wheels. my advice is either pressure the dealer or find another one. have to say i love my 20 rims! must be a chick thing whats up with those 20 ghetto wheels on all the 1500s went looking at new 04 rams at 3 different dealers in dallas last night. here we have a lonestar package which has always included the 20 wheels. but now i cant find a 1500 hemi either without the 20 wheels. dealer said i would need to either step up to a 2500 buy a cheap single cab 1500 or special order a new truck. i did find one dealer willing to swap wheels. are these things really that popular or are dealers forcing them on us because they cost more makes me want to hold onto my 01 ram 1500 a while longer. bob -- takeoff is an option. landing is a must! and in the end on wheels we will depend. .

makes me want to hold onto my 01 ram 1500 a while longer. cant say i blame you. who needs the extra expense of 20 tires when youve got new car payments besides the 20 wheels look like crap anyway. i would keep the nice new 01 truck too! paul aka tha driver giggle cream - it makes dessert *funny*! .

i hate those 20 wheels! ghetto crap like the wheels that spin. you can always count on some jig-a-boo at the steering wheel. you are in the dallas area. have you considered cruising the carmax lots a quick check of the carmax web site shows you have four carmax dealers in the greater dallas area. love those no-haggle prices. lloyd whats up with those 20 ghetto wheels on all the 1500s went looking at new 04 rams at 3 different dealers in dallas last night. here we have a lonestar package which has always included the 20 wheels. but now i cant find a 1500 hemi either without the 20 wheels. dealer said i would need to either step up to a 2500 buy a cheap single cab 1500 or special order a new truck. i did find one dealer willing to swap wheels. are these things really that popular or are dealers forcing them on us because they cost more makes me want to hold onto my 01 ram 1500 a while longer. bob -- takeoff is an option. landing is a must! and in the end on wheels we will depend. .

bubkat05 wrote the 20in wheels are cooler than you. i love dubs but the stock dodge 20s are some ugly ass rims. those would be ugly ass rims if they were shrunk to be 13s on the side of a geo metro or puffed up to be 26s on the side of an escalade. theyre just ugly. most of them around here have turned an ugly shade of yellow and/or found their way underneath excursions and navigators - usually driven by semi-successful columbian pharmicutical tm salesmen id imagine truely successful columbian pharmicutical tm salesmen would get a decent set or 22s at least js .

i agree about the 20 wheels. they also have to ride ten times as rough as normal wheels because of the tires that you have to put on them. what pressure do you have to carry in those tires dddd whats up with those 20 ghetto wheels on all the 1500s went looking at new 04 rams at 3 different dealers in dallas last night. here we have a lonestar package which has always included the 20 wheels. but now i cant find a 1500 hemi either without the 20 wheels. dealer said i would need to either step up to a 2500 buy a cheap single cab 1500 or special order a new truck. i did find one dealer willing to swap wheels. are these things really that popular or are dealers forcing them on us because they cost more makes me want to hold onto my 01 ram 1500 a while longer. bob -- takeoff is an option. landing is a must! and in the end on wheels we will depend. .

i recently carmaxed here in san antonio. 2003 1500 ram with 4000k miles. no carpet no power windows but did have cd and cruise just what i wanted. i truck to use as a truck that had a few creature comforts and no ghetto wheels. though they did have a few of those too. i hate those 20 wheels! ghetto crap like the wheels that spin. you can always count on some jig-a-boo at the steering wheel. you are in the dallas area. have you considered cruising the carmax lots a quick check of the carmax web site shows you have four carmax dealers in the greater dallas area. love those no-haggle prices. lloyd whats up with those 20 ghetto wheels on all the 1500s went looking at new 04 rams at 3 different dealers in dallas last night. here we have a lonestar package which has always included the 20 wheels. but now i cant find a 1500 hemi either without the 20 wheels. dealer said i would need to either step up to a 2500 buy a cheap single cab 1500 or special order a new truck. i did find one dealer willing to swap wheels. are these things really that popular or are dealers forcing them on us because they cost more makes me want to hold onto my 01 ram 1500 a while longer. bob -- takeoff is an option. landing is a must! and in the end on wheels we will depend. .

try it..it works to silence that awful chime.... personally i would not drive my truck - on or off road - without the seat belt. i think seat belts are a good idea. it is a small annoyance. but the safety factor is so high that i just cant think of a good reason not to use it. i also think driving down the highway without a seatbelt is absolutly foolish. but who am i to tell you whats a good idea and what isnt shouldnt you have the right to choose for yourself youre an adult and you can make foolish decisions if you want to. it doesnt affect anybody but you so why should i stick my nose in i fell the same way about helmet laws for motorcyclists. -- .bob 1997 hd fxdwg - turbocharged! 2001 dodge dakota qc 5.9/4x4/3.92 1983 gmc jimmy - mountain beater 1966 mustang coupe - daily driver 1966 ffr cobra - ongoing project .

boy have i got for you. i live in bedford tx. just down the road. just bought an slt with leather and 20 rims. i no longer have the 20 rims or tires it was stolen a week ago had less than 300 miles on it. when they found it in dallas it no longer had the rims tires or the front seat. i saw it at the impound yard siiting on its four disc rotors. its at the dealer getting fixed up right now. a more serious note anybody known anything about adding the dodge sentry evs ii anti theft system to an 04 ram i dont want this to happen again so ill do anything i can to try to make it a little harder the next time. dont tell me to get rid of the 20 rims thats not an option i love em. whats up with those 20 ghetto wheels on all the 1500s went looking at new 04 rams at 3 different dealers in dallas last night. here we have a lonestar package which has always included the 20 wheels. but now i cant find a 1500 hemi either without the 20 wheels. dealer said i would need to either step up to a 2500 buy a cheap single cab 1500 or special order a new truck. i did find one dealer willing to swap wheels. are these things really that popular or are dealers forcing them on us because they cost more makes me want to hold onto my 01 ram 1500 a while longer. bob -- takeoff is an option. landing is a must! and in the end on wheels we will depend. .
