From : pyro

Q: ok im driving my 1994 1500 sltdown the road and i turn my a/c up to high and then all of a sudden my abs light came on my power windows and locks stopped working the radio shut off. i drive on down the road a few minutes tinkering with all the electrical stuff and then it all started working again. that was several months ago. never really happened again until a few weeks ago. now my cassette radio doesnt work unless the planets are in perfect alignment. sometimes the radio has a dash in the clock readout area sometimes it comes on and shows a preset station but no sound. sometimes it even has static in the speakers but when i turn the volume down...the static still stays there. i have to turn the truck off and then back on to get rid of the static problem. my a/c is now gone out....no cold air but the fan still works. can someone please give me some insight on what to do...besides calling a priest to have it exorcised. thanks .

still works. can someone please give me some insight on what to do...besides calling a priest to have it exorcised. thanks sounds like a lot of different electrical problems. the one common point to all of these circuits instrument cluster blower motor door locks etc. is the bulkhead connector and associated connectors around it on the firewall below the dash to the right of the emergency brake. by chance did your truck ever see high water/flooding id disconnect the battery undo the connectors around the bulkhead then remove the bolt in the middle of the bulkhead connector and separate that. spray everything with contact cleaner radio shack or any electronics store will have this then re-assemble. beyond that inspect all the wiring up under the dash for any pinched or chaffed wires. .

no the one thing common to all those circuits is the ground....somewhere theres a loose ground connection thats making and breaking...sending those circuits into a tizzy. still works. can someone please give me some insight on what to do...besides calling a priest to have it exorcised. thanks sounds like a lot of different electrical problems. the one common point to all of these circuits instrument cluster blower motor door locks etc. is the bulkhead connector and associated connectors around it on the firewall below the dash to the right of the emergency brake. by chance did your truck ever see high water/flooding id disconnect the battery undo the connectors around the bulkhead then remove the bolt in the middle of the bulkhead connector and separate that. spray everything with contact cleaner radio shack or any electronics store will have this then re-assemble. beyond that inspect all the wiring up under the dash for any pinched or chaffed wires. .

my truck did this a while back 93 dakota 3.9l i got mad and changed out the radio and put a good one in it after i had went to junk yard and got a working replacement stock radio the stock one that i put in to replace the other one worked fine for about 3 weeks then it did the same thing i finally got a pioneer radio pretty good radio and i havnt had that problem since. in alot of cases all the things may be wired together. i know my moms power windows went out in her suv 94 isuszu rodeo we took the motor out while the motor was out the radio wouldnt work the cab light didnt work the back windshield wiper didnt work. when we put the new motor in all that stuff worked again. so try finding a really cheap radio an see if that helps it did in my case. mark ok im driving my 1994 1500 sltdown the road and i turn my a/c up to high and then all of a sudden my abs light came on my power windows and locks stopped working the radio shut off. i drive on down the road a few minutes tinkering with all the electrical stuff and then it all started working again. that was several months ago. never really happened again until a few weeks ago. now my cassette radio doesnt work unless the planets are in perfect alignment. sometimes the radio has a dash in the clock readout area sometimes it comes on and shows a preset station but no sound. sometimes it even has static in the speakers but when i turn the volume down...the static still stays there. i have to turn the truck off and then back on to get rid of the static problem. my a/c is now gone out....no cold air but the fan still works. can someone please give me some insight on what to do...besides calling a priest to have it exorcised. thanks .

i bought the truck last year and the carfax didnt say anything about insurance claims for flooding...but i have noticed the bolts that connect my seat down to the floorboard have rusted pretty bad. the carpeting all around it is darkk brown. ill check the wires though...thanks still works. can someone please give me some insight on what to do...besides calling a priest to have it exorcised. thanks sounds like a lot of different electrical problems. the one common point to all of these circuits instrument cluster blower motor door locks etc. is the bulkhead connector and associated connectors around it on the firewall below the dash to the right of the emergency brake. by chance did your truck ever see high water/flooding id disconnect the battery undo the connectors around the bulkhead then remove the bolt in the middle of the bulkhead connector and separate that. spray everything with contact cleaner radio shack or any electronics store will have this then re-assemble. beyond that inspect all the wiring up under the dash for any pinched or chaffed wires. .
