Q: of course its a dodge.. i was just reading a post about the oil.. do you need to buy a specific brand do some brands produce an odor when you drive i guess im saying i dont know half as much as i thought i did but i still want my 1 ton .. thanks guys... some real interesting and informative posts here ive been lurking for months. .

of course its a dodge.. i was just reading a post about the oil.. do you need to buy a specific brand no. you need an oil that meets the ci-4 spec. shell rotella-t 15w40 and valvoline premium blue 15w40 are two examples. as long as the oil says it meets to ci-4 spec youre fine. do some brands produce an odor when you drive yep. rotella has a rather unique odor to it for the first couple of hundred miles. to me it just reminds me that i put fresh oil in it .

when i called daimler chrysler they gave me an estimated ship date once my truck went to d1. so if it was painted today when should it hit the dealer 1500 4x4 quad cab. tia pk .
