thats only for the over-the-rail bedliners right i have one of the under-the-rail type and was assuming i wouldnt have to cut anything. and youre right the difference in price features mfgs. etc. make this a tough decision especially since i have no real good experience to base the decision on. mike on mon 05 jan 2004 210634 gmt mike in mystic sandiedadog@hotmail.com wrote im thinking of getting a soft tonneau cover for my new 2004 ram 1500 slt qc 4x4. there seem to be a lot of mfgs. of these things - any that stand out in particular in quality and longevity i live in new england so cold/snow/rain will be frequently encountered. thanks! mike im searching now... i feel your pain... looking at access pace edwards etc.... so far the access looks good for a soft roll back the pace edwards is expensive but i like the solid sliding idea especially the fact that it will lock every 12 inches so if you have something in the rear of the bed like a bbq or something you can still use the cover... looking at between $300 and $700 depending on brand and type... note i have a bedliner and all of the covers that ive looked at require cutting holes in the bedliner to install the rail clamps.. mac .

@nospam.15252.invalid says... @nospam.15252.invalid says... 1999 dodge ram 1500 oversized receiver opening. 1. how hard are those receivers to install. not hard at all. thanks. its about unscrewing a few screws connecting a couple of connectrs things like that yep there are adaptor plugs you can get so there is no soldering needed. 2. is there any ones with mp3 capability yes but you dont have to get one of the bigger ones an adaptor will let you put a normal sized one in a good move imo since you have a much better selection. i see. thanks yes it opens a lot of possibilities. its weird that smaller receivers have more functions... even though i know that about the only difference is software on the rom chips more or less. its more that the big ones tend to be lower end. 3. is that satellite radio worth anything it will be my next move when my present head unit dies i will get one that has xm controls. so then i will try to get one with xm controls also if it is not too expensive. thanks. 4. are there any ones with multi-cd capability say 2-3 cds certainly an oversized opening should make it possible. yes but a normal sized one that has a external changer is probably better. well that means using extra space for the changer something i would prefer to avoid. oh well. its not a concern/interest of mine so check out one of the car stereo sites like crutchfield and see what they have... thanks i no problem bdk .

i have a 2003 ram 1500. i removed the factory am-fm cd and installed an alpine am-fm cd mp3/wma control unit with an xm tuner. i also changed the factory speakers to four boston acoustics and added a five channel alpine amplifier and a kicker subwoofer. i have the 2 door truck. they installed the amp and tuner under the drivers seat the kicker truck box subwoofer is narrow enough to fit on the left side behind the seat. the xm sound is flawless. you can compare it to the sound quality difference between am and fm. the xm is that much better than xm. in addition i listen to country music and there are no country stations in the ny/nj area. if you consider satellite go with xm. they have 1000000+ subscribers sirius only has about 75000. i would begin to wonder if sirius will survive. on the other hand in the scheme of radio 1000000 subscribers is not much. i would guess that z100 in ny probably gets 5 or 10000000 listeners in drive time. .

well that means using extra space for the changer something i would prefer to avoid. oh well. you could always mount the change in the glove box under the seats or behind the seats. just means running a little bit more cord under the carpetting and such. robbie .
