Bumpers

Q: per the manual i removed the webbing between lens and truck frame; three bolts holding lens assembly to body. the assemble would not come out freely. i was worried about forcing the unit fearing i might damage it. i did manage to replace the right passenger side bulb by reaching behind the unit from above. i had purchased a pair of brighter bulbs and would like to replace the left driver side bulb. compared to the old dak i had 1988 this is no fun! do i pull harder on the assemble or am i missing something i have a copy of the 2003 truck manual and it implies that once i remove the three screws that unit will come out. any help would be appreciated. marshall yes once all the fasteners are removed it still takes a little extra effort to remove the housing assembly. a note of caution however! if you are using higher wattage bulbs than the original 9007s you run the risk of melting the socket and/or wiring to the headlight. a good brighter safe bulb to use is the sylvania silverstar. mike .

being in the industry i see service contracts pay off on a daily basis. as i said i work in the industry and can fix most anything myself and get a substantial discount on parts but i still have service contracts on every vehicle that i own. the peace of mind in worth it to me. i respect your opinion and experience which in this case is much greater than mine. i never would have used an extended warranty on any product for which it was offered to me. maybe ive been lucky though i dont much believe in luck. what kind of vehicles to you work on that you see extended warranties pay off on a daily basis i want to avoid those manufactures. ok dude! we get it. you dont believe in extended warranties. quit beating a dead horse. your last 6 posts all said the same thing. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

imo they only sell you an extended warranty because the seller makes money from it. they compare the cost of all the claims against the money they collect from all the contracts and in the end they show a profit. its similar to insurance but without governing laws and an insurance commissionar to oversee those laws. i never buy extended warranties for any product. well you must have a bunch of money. unless of course you dont keep your products beyond the original warrenty. my samsung dlp widescreen 1 month out of warranty goes on its ass. guy comes out and says yup its broken gonna cost $1500 for a new whatever the hell it is looked impressive as hell. anyway in the past 6 months they have put 2 more into the set. do the math. oh the xtended warranty was $250.00. money well spent imo. what model was that tv -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
