Broken lug nuts...How to repair
From : news verizon net
Q: hi i dont do a lot of work on my truck so i thought id ask the experts in this group before i trash my dodge dakota 97. i just went to change my rear tires to put on snows. one of the nuts was cross-threaded had to drill the side of the nut and spit it in half to remove it. the other side was so rusted i had to use a pipe on the end of the tire-iron . i maintained to break two lugs. how do i replace the broken lugs...i have no idea as to how the lugs are attached. thanks .

they should just be pressed in. just drive them out with a hammer and punch. you can use a lug nut with a few washers to reinstall the new ones. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving hi i dont do a lot of work on my truck so i thought id ask the experts in this group before i trash my dodge dakota 97. i just went to change my rear tires to put on snows. one of the nuts was cross-threaded had to drill the side of the nut and spit it in half to remove it. the other side was so rusted i had to use a pipe on the end of the tire-iron . i maintained to break two lugs. how do i replace the broken lugs...i have no idea as to how the lugs are attached. thanks .

i think there is something wrong with the fuel shut off or something that is allowing raw fuel to enter the engine cylinders after you shut the truck off. the result is basically a flooded engine until it can burn off the excess fuel causing hard starting and black smoke. problem is - unless the dodge diagnostic computer reads a fault code they cant do anything. when the engine is running everything is fine. my problem is when the engine is shut off i think and the computer has no way of sensing it. oh well. eisboch . 222 273907 py6dnwfepwztukirvn-ua@comcast.com on mon 15 dec 2003 220404 -0500 tbone fatchance@noway.now wrote on mon 15 dec 2003 174735 -0500 cbhvac stephenaddressscfrewedonpurpose@carolinabreezehvac.com wrote i got a good one for ya... last week the 95ferds heater core went kabloowey and we replaced it. no big deal. while toying around under the truck we hooked the air line back up oin the air pump that had lost its clamp. about 1 day later and 200 miles we started to get a really really loud whine at higher rpms and after much debate and looking and poking and prodding the smog pump seemed to be the suspect part. got a new one and sure enough the old one was about the fall apart..really. get it on and crank her up and take off down the road and at the same rpm it sounded like the dash was coming out. so...back to looking..and you wont freaking believewhat it was.. turbulence in the new heater core....clamp the heater hoses off and it was just as quiet as ever...open em up and good god...it sounded like the front end was about to come off... hey steve.. i think what youre experiencing there is the fix or repair daily thing.... i thought that it was frequently overhauled rarely driven now im confused... i thought that one was frequent overhaul rapid depreciation... didnt hear that one before. sadly the rapid depreciation fits most cars and usually within the first hour of ownership. but then again there is f**ked on rotten deal - and the all too famous found on road dead. i used to wonder why ford offered padded bumpers on there cars until i owned one and realized that they were meant to keep your hands warm while pushing it on cold days. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

when did you get out -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving which reminds of a joke i heard in prisons books are read repeatedly until as is often the case all the inmates know them by heart. in one such prison a popular book was a new joke book but soon all the inmates knew it by heart as well. as a fact the prisoners could tell the jokes to on another by simply reciting the selected jokes number. and late at night after lights out you would hear a number whispered in the cell block . . 49 and a flurry of quiet laughter would follow. then another voice 162 and the resultant laughter would follow. a few seconds later another inmate voiced 204. but this time no laughter. 86 by the same voice and silence followed. 162 he whispered loudly desperation creeping into his voice. yet silence descended like a curtain. weakly the strained voice sobbed 49. softly a gruff whisper said its sad how some folks just cant tell a joke. -- budd cochran in tribute to the united states of america and the state of israel two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife and terrorism. ------ .

yes ! try a little liquid wrench on the busted lug then give it a sharp blow with the hammer and punch. use safety glasses ! as my ole welding teacher would say dont fuck around ! i like it ! maybe thats why i went to anger management classes ! lol ! on mon 15 dec 2003 203121 gmt .verizon.net golash1@verizon.net wrote hi i dont do a lot of work on my truck so i thought id ask the experts in this group before i trash my dodge dakota 97. i just went to change my rear tires to put on snows. one of the nuts was cross-threaded had to drill the side of the nut and spit it in half to remove it. the other side was so rusted i had to use a pipe on the end of the tire-iron . i maintained to break two lugs. how do i replace the broken lugs...i have no idea as to how the lugs are attached. thanks the first thing you need to do is take the broken lugs to the guy that put the tires on and shove them where the sun dont shine. beekeep .
