i have a 2003 1500 also and had a similar problem sounds like. i was told it sounded like faulty anti lock brakes. took it in to the dealer and they found that the rotor was warp. good luvk about how long should the original brakes last on a 2003 ram 1500 mine are making a kind of groaning noise and there is a little wobble noticeable through the steering wheel after about 8k. thanks. .

if you have the 20 rims you probably have warped rotors. i have had mine machined once and replaced all before 12k miles. i have a 2003 1500 also and had a similar problem sounds like. i was told it sounded like faulty anti lock brakes. took it in to the dealer and they found that the rotor was warp. good luvk about how long should the original brakes last on a 2003 ram 1500 mine are making a kind of groaning noise and there is a little wobble noticeable through the steering wheel after about 8k. thanks. .

i have a 03 1500 slt qc. mine was doing the same thing. d-c replaced the calipers at 20000 miles. they told me they usually only cover brakes up to 12000 miles but since they were having a lot of problems they were covering them up to 36000 miles. so get it in and get it fixed. if you have the 20 rims you probably have warped rotors. i have had mine machined once and replaced all before 12k miles. i have a 2003 1500 also and had a similar problem sounds like. i was told it sounded like faulty anti lock brakes. took it in to the dealer and they found that the rotor was warp. good luvk about how long should the original brakes last on a 2003 ram 1500 mine are making a kind of groaning noise and there is a little wobble noticeable through the steering wheel after about 8k. thanks. .

brake life is totally dependant on the operator and your conditions. i personally have never had a set last less than 80000 miles myself. except on my f250 that pulls an 11 foot cab over camper and a 21 foot boat. i only get about 40000 out of those. if you use your left foot on the brake naughty naughty! then youll have warped rotors and premature pad failures every time. -- steve barker ========= about how long should the original brakes last on a 2003 ram 1500 mine are making a kind of groaning noise and there is a little wobble noticeable through the steering wheel after about 8k. thanks. .

yes very much depends on the operator and driving conditons and if those daily driving conditions are in cities like l.a. or atlanta brakes need replacement often. in atlanta it is not unusual to need new front brakes every 15 to 20000 miles. you would have to experience the driving conditions to believe it. freddy brake life is totally dependant on the operator and your conditions. i personally have never had a set last less than 80000 miles myself. except on my f250 that pulls an 11 foot cab over camper and a 21 foot boat. i only get about 40000 out of those. if you use your left foot on the brake naughty naughty! then youll have warped rotors and premature pad failures every time. -- steve barker .
