Blower Motor Resistor

Q: howling motor sports wrote actually on my ram they made a nice ramp/funnel like piece just above the filter. its not perfect but at least when i drop the filter it lands on the ramp and all the oil that pours out and misses the bucket makes a much nicer puddle rather then a bunch of little puddles. so as i said before if all things being equal and amsoil only did one thing allow me to avoid many many many oil changes in my lifetime. im flat out sold! i know people are negative and post all the what ifs and the its this and its that. but do people really believe its junk in all seriousness take your user posting pointing out the flaws hat off for a second and think about it. i havent seen a negative from an amsoil user posted on this board. ive only seen a lot of folks who have never tried it telling me how bad it is. im going to take some time and search the rest of the boards for some negative reviews and see what i can come up with. i suspect it might be easy to find the old synthetic oil leaks like crazy posts but i think most folks know this is a function of the carbon and varnish that traditional oils create and thus drying out the seals. most synthetics are high detergent oils and clean these out and of course reveal bad seals and gaskets. can anyone tell me how to link other posts i would like to include any negatives that i find in another post. i believe the causes leaks in older cars is the only negative i have posted about it. and if i am running a symthetic now the varnish and carbon built up you speak of should be gone by now. so that should not be an issue. next item i bought my truck in 2001 and i have since put 20k miles on it. what are the oil change intervals with amsoil 12-20k miles or once a year as it is i change the oil every 6-9 monthsso amsoil would buy me another three months i just dont think i put enough miles on the truck to take advantage of it. i am betting i will put less then 5k miles on my truck in the next 12 months. i would like to try it i have looked at it for a few years now i just never had a chance to. and if i did change over i would want to get the bypass filter as well. another cost item for someone with no cash. .

on mon 15 nov 2004 161749 gmt tbone t-bonenospam@nc.rr.com wrote scott peterson was found guilty of first degree murder of his wife lacy. i never saw enough hard evidence that would have proven that to me beyond a shadow of doubt but then i was not in the court room. he was also found guilty of second degree murder in the death of his unborn son conner. if sometime earlier lacy had taken a leisurely stroll down to the local abortion clinic she could have had conner killed legally. the courts have ruled that life begins at birth .. not at conception. so..... how can scott be guilty of murdering a fetus that was never legally alive how could he even be charged with that the courts seem to want to have it both ways. that is just being silly. there is a big difference between the two things. even in its simplest point it is a matter of possession. i can do what i want with my possessions but i dont have those same rights with yours. i could take all of my money to vegas and blow it all gambling and there is no law against it but if i were to do it with all your money without your permission that would be stealing. the baby is the mothers first and foremost and is growing within her body so she has the right to decide if she wants her body to grow that fetus. if someone else commits an act that kills the fetus against the mothers wishes then it is considered a crime as it should be. you cannot kill something that is not alive. the courts have ruled that life begins at birth .. not at conception. so why is it a crime either way it was not born there is no life there is no crime. so many garys ..so.. clyde .

over the counter parts sold at any chrysler dealer has 12 months unlimited mile warranty. i would think it would have been easier to just take it back and get another one. i havent seen any problem with the resistor blocks going bad. i think you just got a bad one. denny hi a quick report here i had just replaced the blower resistor a few months ago. the part at the dealer cost me $25. now just few months later the thing is broken again. its a bit expensive to buy a new resistor block every few months. so i repaired it myself this time. its really easy! pull the block out from wherever it is its easy on my 99 ram van. remove the metal cover by bending the four legs straight so you can pull the cover off. now you have access to the resistors. youll see 4 resistors 3 of them are just wire coiled up. the one thats blown is probably the fourth one thats not just a coil of wire. you can verify that with an ohm- meter. pull that one off carefully so that you dont break off the wire but pull it out as a whole. that way youll have the holes for your replacement to go in. now you build your own resistor from a few inch of wire that you coil up on a philips screwdriver shaft. i used the type of wire that i had to bind flowers. but any wire thats as thin or a tad bit thinner than the thinnest wire in the array will do. dont do it too thin or it will blow. no plastic insulation is better or else it will stink when it gets hot. target a resistance of about 3 ohm for that self made resistor and stick it into the assembly. put the metal lid back on its place make sure there are no shorts. put it all back and try it out. it worked for me. regards -gunther jpc wrote group... i received good help from the group on my blower motor resistor problem. the dealer part cost less than $12 so my saving by doing it myself was at least $83. thanks! john 2002 dakota-- quad-- 3.9 .
