Q: on tue 09 nov 2004 141122 gmt budd cochran mr-d150@citlinkspam.net wrote mandatory insurance can be a pita but if you own anything you need it anyway. do you really my folks never had car insurance and the worst accident and only accident we ever had hitting a steer at 30 mph in la junta co in a 56 plymouth wagon was covered by the cattle haulers insurance 7 steers escaped from a stock trailer. it totaled the car but no injuries. ive had a grand total of 5 accidents in my 35+ years of driving. only one could be considered my fault at all black ice and bald taxicab tires. if insurance is to be mandatory then let the government pay for it. why penalize good drivers for the stupidity of lousy ones but you cant go by your family and personal experience budd... hopefully you and the typical illegal alien driving without insurance are 2 different ends of the spectrum.. that depends on wether or not hes hauling drugs and running from the cops wouldnt it if you get hit by someone without insurance and they have no assets to fix your car you might think differently about requiring insurance... dont misunderstand me please. im all for insurance but i dont think the state government should require insurance which has resulted in inflated premiums and an elimination of responsibility for ones actions. if you cant pay and no insurance / bond figure on spending some time in a court room totalling your assets to pay for the damages or in jail. and my premiums should not reflect the poor driving of some whacked out crack head or drunk but only my driving record; 5 accidents with only one my fault two speeding tickets one left-of-center ticket one warning for driving too fast for conditions in nearly 39 years of driving. any better and they should pay me to use their insurance. i like californias system you have to have liability but its up to you whether or not you want to insure against damage to your own car.. most states on cars that have clear titles require only property damage and personal liability iirc. i havent had collision coverage since 1973 on my 72 charger which was required by the credit union. i paid off early and dropped it. the ex got it in the divorce in 74 so it became her worry. budd .

the place that i used to have my computers built had big signs that said prices are for cash only.. if you wanted to use a card theyd show you how much that card company charged them and ask if you wanted to add that to your price.. i know it can be a substantial amount. when i bought the gateway computer they set up a revolving credit plan and a $2k computer went right over $3k total. i should have backed out but my old machine was no longer working good enough. budd .

hi folks i have one of those funny sound questions and wouldnt mind entertaining some opinions in case they mention something i could fix myself. frequently when accelerating to about 40-50 mph 2000 rpm i hear a rattling sound. its not a screeching high pitched rattle at all. sometimes it goes away after briefly perking up. it never lasts all that long either. sometimes while cruising to & from work at 65 mph it starts up for about 5 miles. since its not screechy my inclination would be to say that its not a lubrication issue. it sounds almost like something is slightly loose. awhile ago i had the transmission inspected and the mechanic indicated that it was fine. ive had the serpentine replaced about 6 months ago as well and the infernally expensive ball joints. the truck has about 40k miles on it and if someone has gone through similar experiences id like to know about it. thank you so much! -- seth. .

budd cochran wrote to be honest i wouldnt want to live there . . .too hot in the summer. when i was a kid my family drove thru flagstaff going and coming from ca and both times mom gave us kids wet towels to keep us cool 53 chevy no ac. you were too hot in flagstaff in the middle of the summer its lucky to hit 90 tops. most of the summer its in the 70s maybe low 80s and humidity down around 20%. now if you meant phoenix thats another matter. still its beats the heck out of most midwest south and eastern cities in the summer! ive been in the midwest and east in the summer. phoenixs typical 105 summer day at 5% humidity feels considerbly cooler than say detroits 90 degrees and 90% humidity. in most of the country it is either hot and sticky or its frigid cold. in phoenix we have hot and dry in the summer and from october through april its nice and cool. 70s for a high right now. the best weather is the california coast. 70s year round. its problem is that millions of other people think its great too! .
