Bitron Engineered To Out Perform

Q: proteusdiver wrote what was dodge thinking when they decided to get rid of locking hubs have you ever had to go knee deep in mud to find the f@#!! hubs to engage 4 wheel drive personally i prefer to have slightly increased consumption in order to have almost instant 4x4 availability than to have the added complication of the locking hubs. again thats me... and by the way in greece we re paying about 45$ per gallon for some years now... oil will not be cheap for some time so get used to the idea... what is so darn hard about getting out and locking the hubs before you drive through a mud hole be driving 4x4 for about 35 years now and dodge wants to make as much of a no brainer to use as possible to try to sell more of them and how many 1000s of barrels a fuel a day is wasted because dodge is to cheap to put them on. then there is all the needless wear and tear on the front drive axle that is not even needed 99% of the time. yeah really great idea not to have them on a truck and instead have that bastard hub the is a pill to work on if bearings or ujoints need service! we cussed at those things in the 70s when dodge came out with them too. -- ----------------- www.thesnoman.com .

x-no-archive yes i have a 1996 ram that looses oil pressure after it warms and you put it in gear. have had the oil pump replaced and engine flushed. need help bad. thanks you might want to rent a mechanical oil pressure gauge and test your pressure with that first. you could have a faulty electrical gauge that is causing the problem. .

edwardohare@nospam.yahoo.com.invalid says... i need to replace the tires on my 2000 dakota. the original owner threw away the oem tires fairly early on and installed passenger car tires 20mm larger i know im going back to the standard p215/75r15 but dont know whether to buy a passenger car tire or what is stated to be a truck and suv tire. independent of tread design p indicates passenger. lt indicates light truck. usually p tires are 4-ply or 6-ply rated b or c load range ride smooth and balance well. lt tires have stiffer sidewalls usually 8-ply or 10-ply rated d or e load range ride harsher and will carry more weight. heavy loads and towing can take advantage of the stiffer sidewalls and more cord layers might be a little more puncture resistant. i put p245-75r16s on mine. .

there are a choice of three different compressors that fit a 200 dakota. the 3.9 v6 and 5.9 l v8 engines use the same compressor. the 2.5 l i4 engine yours uses a different compressor. the 4.7 l v8 engine also uses a different compressor. in other words - no it wont work. it may fit but it wont work. john .

wrote hello all just purchased a 1998 2wd ram 1500 club cab it has the 318 in it and i was just wondering what if anythingdodge has done to change this motor the last 318 i had was in a 72 plymouth scamp and that was probably the easiest motor to work on for me. i have owned 2 other rams a 97 diesel dually 3500 and a 02 diesel dually.had to get rid of the last one after my divorce to cover some bills. anyway i got a killer deal on this truck it was one owner and hes been a mechanic at the dodge dealer i go to for about 20 years. the only problems really are interior. he is about 300+ when i got in the truck i sunk in the seat because he had removed the springs because they were hurting his butt. the only other issue is that the headliner has begun to separate right at the windshield and i was wondering if there is a special adhesive i can purchase to repair it that wont bleed through the grey headliner. if anyone knows their upolstery could they please help me. thanks all jason there is a fabric glue you can buy. you can usually find it at craft stores you know the ones that never in history has a straight guy walked into alone. what i have found to work reasonable well is a good double stick tape for a temp fix. just remember to try the glue on a tiny spot first. -- posted using the http//www.autoforumz.com interface at authors request articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards topic url http//www.autoforumz.com/dodge-group-ftopict140392.html visit topic url to contact author reg. reqd. report abuse http//www.autoforumz.com/eform.phpp=679389 .

i am thinking about putting a remote starter in my 2005 dakota problem is the one i got is aftermarket from another vehicle...i took it off and am reinstalling on this one. i cant decide if to save the warranty on the electrical system from being voided i should buy a new mopar branded one or just wait and install this one after 3 yr/36000 miles. has anyone used the mopar remote starter from what i can tell it does not include keyless entry or alarm features which i also want to add. any suggestions or advice about the mopar starter or if i should wait or not is appreciated. thank you also has anyone had any really hard times with dodges electrical systems .

if an octane change made a difference it sounds like pinging. have the dealer reflash the computer to retard the timing. sk the dealer if a tsb has been issued for this problem. you might lose a bit of performance but at least you wont need premium fuel. replace the thermostat with a cooler one. some people have even had success with re-routing the spark plug wires. john .

i agree with the previous poster over filling could be a problem. too much oil may be getting kicked up onto the cylinder walls by the crankshaft. too much oil could be overloading the oil wiper ring. if the oil level is good watch the oil level. if youre burning oil your oil lever will start dropping. if theres no change then assume its fuel related. are you sure you put in the right oil if its a lighter weight oil can it be getting past the rings john i cant imagine that a cummins with only 100000 miles on it will have work rings or valve guides. .

i have a 2002 dodge dakota quad cab and my a/c & heater fan motor does not work. i think it is the resistor but who can tell with all the electronics on a vehicle any more. what has happened is my fan kept getting slower and slower and now i have no fan at all. the mode controls work the a/c button lights comes on when you push it on. i can even hear the a/c compressor cycle on and off but again no blower motor. anyone want to please give me some input. i did check the fuses to be sure that it was good. thanks !!! -- .

i have a 96 2500 cummins diesel with abs brakes. lately when i start it up the brake pedal will be very hard and right at the top. after a minute or so it fades down to where it is supposed to be and the brakes seem to work fine. any idea what the problem is. could this possible be a vacuum leak i am also gettin a little black smoke when i first start up. this usually happens first thing in the morning but sometimes after i have been driving and shut it off for several minutes or more. byron .

john wrote mile marker also makes a 9000# and 10500# winch. i also have the 10500# for my jeep. http//7slotgrille.com/projects/05rubicon/mm/ why was the largest winch chosen even the two smaller winches could lift the entire truck off the ground with the use of a single line pull. yesterday at the dump i was weighed going into and leaving. on the way out with me two small kids and the winch mounted my dually weighed 8000 pounds on the nose. add to this that 95% of the time im pulling a trailer weighing nearly 10000 pounds and even the 12000# winch requires a snatch block worse case scenario. is the rated speed of the winch rated with the engine idling yes the winch will operate at full capacity at engine idle. great install good luck with it. many thanks. i hope i never need it but its nice to know i have it i i do. nathan http//inlinediesel.com .
