Bent front axle tube? Dodge 4x4

Q: kgharris wrote i replaced the gas cap about a month ago and the next day after i reset the check engine light and the fuel level got down to about 1/4 tank the light came back on. so i figured that it was not the gas cap. same things happened to me. i received a suggestion that it might be a problem with the vaccum pump and that the problem has more to do with federal emissions regulations than it does to anything actually wrong with your vehicle. i did see a post once where someones system vaccum pump had gone out completely and replacing it fixed the problem. im in merry ole england so im just getting use to the check engine light being on i check the code periodically to see if any have been added and will get it smoke-tested once we go back to the us. jmc whos dak refuses to stay clean more than 24 hours because it refuses to stay dry here for longer than that. .

could be accelerator pump in carb .

i believe that timing is right and there is one vacumn nipple with no hose on it in the air filter housing .
