Bad ball joints on new HDs???
From : paul johnson
Q: i was just talking to my brother who has a 2004 3500 w/12000 miles on it cummins 6-speed. he took the truck to a tire shop because he noticed cupping on his front tires. they told him his ball joints were loose. armed with that he went to the dealer and they admitted they had several 04s with that problem and they didnt know when they would get the parts for a fix. i searched google for threads on the subject and only found a discussion of durangos and dakotas. has anyone else heard of or experienced this ball joint problem on the 2500s or 3500s paul johnson .

i have a 95 2500 4x4 with a v10. had to change both kingpins lower balljoint and never did any offroading. also had to change bpth tierod ends and trackbar and now i just noticed the steering box is loose. i think all this bad stuff is attributed mostly to riding with high pressure in the tires 60psi. i think its worst on a deisel because of the weight on the front end. also the brake rotors really suck had to change them very early. ....kodiak i was just talking to my brother who has a 2004 3500 w/12000 miles on it cummins 6-speed. he took the truck to a tire shop because he noticed cupping on his front tires. they told him his ball joints were loose. armed with that he went to the dealer and they admitted they had several 04s with that problem and they didnt know when they would get the parts for a fix. i searched google for threads on the subject and only found a discussion of durangos and dakotas. has anyone else heard of or experienced this ball joint problem on the 2500s or 3500s paul johnson .
