Bad Alternator

From : kstarc

Q: just because you hear the pump doesnt mean that it is actually delivering fuel. the fact that you primed it and got it to run for a few seconds points directly at the fuel system. the first step for me would be to check for loose wires and connectors near the alternator and in the engine compartment to make sure that you didnt unplug the power for the injectors. if you can borrow a noid light you can see if the injectors are firing. you can also do this with a multi-meter but it is a bit more difficult. if the injectors are firing i would have the fuel pressure checked. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving recently my alternator went out i ordered the part installed it and now i can not get the truck to start i have a 2001 extra cab 1500 4wheel drive 5.9. i am getting spark to engine and i can hear the fuel pump working and i am at a loss for what to try next. o and i primed it and got it to start but then it just dies.thank you .

you might be better of at this time of the year to get spring air too!! on wed 16 feb 2005 154833 -0700 jim hall jdhall@nospammolaplateng.co wrote my 97 cummins pickup has had repeated air leaks at the valve stem on the drivers side front. ive wasted over half a day in 1-hour increments at the tire shop for repeated free flat repairs - with a new stem installed each time. so im doing a slow burn as i enter the tire place last week with another stem leak. the new counter guy is older than usual for these places and ive never seen him before. i explain my problem and *frustration* and he immediately asks me if i have a 3/4 ton dodge pickup. i havent told him what im driving he doesnt have my account on the screen yet and he hasnt seen me pull in. apparently this isnt just a lucky guess. he says some problem in the manufacturing process leaves the inside surface of the rim uneven and/or burred. this often causes valve stem failures in dodge rims. i now have a fancy metal stem in this particular rim. so far it is holding air. has anyone else heard of this it was to me. youre changing the air in the tires on a regular basis arent you if you dont the air molecules eventually get all squished down in size so small they will slip by the valve stem seal sometimes. or you could just use chevy air it holds up better... jim hall david djonesatlsidaho.com http//www.motosports-boise.com/rmd dont listen to his crap. either use oem air or go to www.genosgarage.com click on dodge/cummins accessories stay away from chebby and see if they are having a sale this week. fmb . 222 297847 pbwqd.77$du1.69841@twister.southeast.rr.com if you do that i would consider having the trans built up a little as well. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving this has probably been addressed but im asking opinions on the best performance modules for a 2000 dodge 2500 diesel automatic trans. i will be pulling a 9000 lb trailer i want something that will give me more power but will still be safe. thanks in advance. .
