i have a 2001 dodge ram 4x4 diesel. i was backing up a very steep drivewayi would guess 35 degrees or more and when i got to the top my truck must have dumped at least a quart of oil. it looks like there is some sort of overflow tube coming off the front top of the engine. i assume it spilled the oil out as some form of engine protection. i just wanted to find out why this happened.. just some quick added info 1my engine oil was not over full. on level ground it was about 1/2 way down the add mark on the dipstick. 2my truck does has 100000k+ but it does not leak or burn oil. 3truck was not in 4x4 mode when i was backing up. 4truck had a load of about 1200lbs on it. 5when i drove down the hill the oil pressure dropped and check engine light came on. 6i drove home that night and had no problems of additional oil loss or loss of oil pressure. if you could email me with an answer i would appreciate it. later bill .
