i cannot phantom how people go to a mechanic and ask for a problem to be fixed pay some money to them and leave without the problem being fixed. sounds like i need to be in that business if there are that many suckers. ive been in the business. its ok if your single imho but you just cant make a trend of purposely half assin the work. you wont be in business long. no matter how good you are there are always going to be people that you just cant please. people that want something for nothing. and the people that want to blame you because their crap broke. its just the way of it. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

im with craig. ive used val for years on all 4 of my cars. nissan quest ford ranger dodge 1500 isuzu ascender no problem with pressure. im a satisfied val user. not to knock your trusted mechanic but other than adding new oil to obtain pressure what other evidence does he provide you that val is a poor product stormin mormon wrote first throw out every valvoline oil you own. drain the truck. replace all above with castrol. my last truck castrol was the only brand that prevented rod knock. also a mechanic i trust very strongly says that valvoline oil doesnt maintain viscosity. hes had a couple cases where the customer comes in with no oil pressure. he replaces the oil with quaker state leaves filter on. and the oil pressure comes back. not trying to be a smartass here ... but if valvoline is really that bad do you think cummins would have partnered with them to create extreme blue its the oil that cummins recommends for all of its 5.9l crd engines. i realize that the ops truck is not a cummins but still ... as a side note ... ive had no problem with valvoline. 50k miles using extreme blue every 8k. pressure is good etc. craig c. -- facts fakts -noun the pesky things that get in the way of religious doctrine. .

i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 extended cab 360 c.i engine. i have what i think are problems with whining noise in the rear end which was confirmed by dealer which then did some work replaced bearings ruined my abs speed sensor all to no avail. noises continue as before though my wallet is considerably lighter. there is a ebay seller local to me who is offering a rear axle. it is from a 05 pickup with 30k miles according to him 3.92 gear ratio. http//cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayisapi.dllviewitem&item=290037793055 my question is can i swap my present rear end for that rear end. anyone knows i just do what youve been talking about and trade it. before you buy another rear end check your current ratio .
