Q: i have a 1998 dodge 2500 diesel i have been having problems with the truck here are the things it is doing and the things i have already done to correct the problems which have not worked.... 1. originally the truck would shift into overdrive but it would not stay in as if the torque converter was not locking. i took it to williams and johnson transmission to have the transmission checked....they found no problem and advised it was an electrical problem. the truck was taken to kile dodge in cleveland tn where they flashed the computer this fixed that problem however it created another problem. see #2 2. i drove the truck home from the dealershipabout 25 miles on my way home when i would stop at a traffic light or stop sign the truck would continue to pull the accelerator pedal traveled to the floor with no resistance. if i let the truck roll about 12-15 feet it would drop out like the torque converter unlocked. the next day when i started the truck and put it in drive it would kill the engine. i took the truck back to kile dodge they checked the truck again and advised the throttle control sensor was bad and replaced it however this still did not fix the problem. if anyone can offer any assistance i would greatly appreciate it. please either post or email me at poodle726@bellsouth.net. thanks in advance!! .
