Another snow plowing question.

From : mark elliott

Q: we use the diesels up here quite often without any problem. maines most popular plow is the fisher manufactured right here in maine is also one of the heavier ones. you can more technical info here --http//www.fisherplows.com/ mark carolina watercraft works inc. loballeng@mindspring.com wrote in with regards to the vehicle itself as i recall the only issue dodge states is that they do not recommend any of their vehicles with a diesel to be used for plowing. im going to guess that is due to the weight of the engine/plow on the front suspension is there any other reason i would not want a diesel for plowing if the weight is the only issue id imagine there is enough available to upgrade the front suspension to accommodate the weight of the diesel and the plow so it wouldnt be a problem. -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. 2810-5d yonkers road raleigh nc 27604 loballeng@mindspring.com .

carolina watercraft works inc. loballeng@mindspring.com wrote in i bought a book about plowing and it was going through the details of which and why but the data may have been several years old at printing so that may be the case. ill scan back through the book to see if i can figure out the approx. timeframe of vehicles it was referencing. if you want to know about snow plowing look here www.plowsite.com you will have to register to post but there is a ton of reading and info there. roy .

if you want to know about snow plowing look here www.plowsite.com you will have to register to post but there is a ton of reading and info there. its pretty humorous around here with snowplowing. i saw one parking lot being cleared yesterday after the business was open and quite a few cars in the lot. guys using a bobcat saw a john deere one on a trailer just about all businesses just leave it to melt even if it takes a week or so. ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

this is why tail lights and instrument lights are typically on the same fuse -- so youll know when the tail lights arent working. look for pinched wiring in the rear near one of the tail light assemblies. id bet on some cargo getting loose and causing the problem. bryan hello all. i was wondering if anyone here has had this trouble. there is a short that causes both the taillights and dash lights to blow their fuses. everything else works fine. this just started happening. is there a common problem that i can check for or am i going to have to bear the cold and crawl around with my millimetre this is on my friends 89 dodge ram p/u. any advice or links of wiring diagrams would be greatly appreciated! .

chevguy does the truck have a trailer hitch and associated wiring if so i would suspect the trailer wiring before anything else. -tony yes i had a look at his truck today. to reply to someione elses comment yes the dash lights are in the same circuit. there is only the 20 amp ext. light fuse blowing. and yes the truck has a trailer plug mounted inside the box for a 5th wheel. the putz who did it ripped the shroud off the wires the whole length of teh framerail from teh plug to the back and there are splices made with hockey tape. i am no engineer but feel the problem could lay with that. i feel that there are several lengths of wire that may also need to be replaced as well. this job was so shoddy i am surprised there arent scotchlocks involved. i was the one who suggested the tail and instrument lights are typically on the same circuit. tonys suggestion sounded like a good place to start -- unless damaged the factory wiring wouldnt be the first thing id suspect. a dmm/vom meter with a low ohms range may be useful in tracking down the culprit. for added-on wiring thats exposed to the elements connectors that seal the connection and wires from moisture are a good thing. if not readily available some alternate form of sealing tape non-corrosive rtv etc can be substituted. bryan .
