http//neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/oil-life.html the part about topping off the oil is quite interesting. there is actually a company that makes an oil system for trucks were the old oil is very slowly fed into the fuel like maybe one quart per 1000 mi and replaced with new oil. this way the oil is always semi-fresh and up to the task of protecting the engine. and there is never any oil changes just filter changes. lol i had an old buick skylark with a 350 that pretty much did that by itself and all i did was change the filter. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

yep. the 440 is a wedge combustion chamber pushrod engine and quite capable in modified form to give the hemi fits. a popular build up however is to put a 440 crank in a 0.030 over 400 block for a 451 cubic inch killer motor. its also usually cheaper than chasing down a 440. budd thanks for all of the great info. is the 440 wedge a whole lot different from the hemi budd cochran wrote well gee i was only trying to give a quick overview not a detailed history. so when was the hemi first banned from racing by whom 1936 chrysler v-16 fighter aircraft what was the last mopar banned from racing it never was banned except in 1952 for the use in roadsters at indy as being to fast. lee petty turned around and won five nascar races with a hemi in 1953. 1965 nascar outlaws hemi by setting minimum production levels for street use. however in 1966 chrysler builds the street hemi and returns to nascar racing. jerry .

in the 50s essentially each automotive line at mopar; dodge chrysler desoto and imperial plymouth wasnt supposed to get one but did a year or so later had their own version of the hemi and few parts interchanged. of course this was a financial nightmare so in 1958 all hemis were dropped.... first hemi was chrysler in 51 then desoto in 52 and dodge in 53. plymouths first v-8 was 55 and it was a wedge not a hemi. plymouth didnt get a hemi until the 60s racing days. paul johnson .

i have a 2003 1500 reg cab 2wd with a 2.5 leveling kit. it uses coil spacers for the front too. i did not attempt to put the kit on because i have work full time and college full time. they put the kit on for $84. i also had to put new shocks on. i got the rancho rs5000 series the ride is so much smoother then with the stock shocks. you could always get new longer coil springs but your ride could also be more stiffer. i cant tell a difference in the ride quality after i put new shocks on. i can now run 305/70/17s without rubbing. good luck john did a little checking around online today for other kits and found a decent 1.5 suspension leveling kit from tuff country that seems like it might be higher quality and will still allow me to swap to 265/75/r16 tires. once again this kit uses front coil spring spacers and if i need to i can get lift blocks for the rear too but not planning on it as there seems to be space for the new tires out back. this seems like it would be less of a hassle than an actual lift kit but i could still use some advice. anybody out there done this before what tools will i need is this a good kit or is it junk thanks in advance for the info. .
