bob ring wrote has anyone else corrolated a direct relationship between use of thier block heater and dramaticilly higher electric bills just as cold last month but bill was much lower. and i was away this month i plugged in the ol gal 2 x on exceptionally cold mornings and this month my bill was about double. go out and look at your electric meter before and after plugging in the block heater. you will then understand why the bill was high and also why everyone recommends a simple timer to turn the heater on for about two hours before you need the vehicle. jerry .

youre going to have alot more to worry about other than the correct oil and gas. i own one of these lemons and from the first week i owned it bought new it has been back to the dealer about once a month while under warranty and ive lost count how many times since. ive spent thousands wheel bearings ball joints waterpump etc. and the problems continue. id sell this pile of junk but no one will touch it with tranfer case fluid running out of it. tranfer case just disintegrated with hairline cracks all over it do yourself a favor and trade for a toyota. ya right and we are supposed to believe that. it riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave the moody blues .

eisboch wrote i wouldnt even listen to anything a sears die-hard guy has to say. i wouldnt trust them to check the air pressure in my tires. eisboch i feel the same way about factory trained technicians. jam several sears automotive service centers got caught recommending repairs that where totally not necessary a few years ago. my own experience dates back to the mid 70s while i was still in the military. i had purchased a used 1970 plymouth and had it inspected by a reputable mechanic friend because i was about to make a long trip in it. it also passed a state safety inspection required in ma to be registered. anyway my friend noted that i should get a front end alignment as the front tires were slightly uneven in wear. not seriously bad he said but i might want to get it checked someday. so while visiting a sears store somewhere in maryland a few months later i notice that they had a special on front end alignments and had the service done while my wife and i shopped. when i returned for the car the sears service manager asked to talk to me in his little office. he said the ball joints on my car where in terrible shape and the car was unsafe to drive. luckily they could get the new ball joints and install them that day and quoted a price which i cant remember. i thought about it and decided to pass. the ball joints had been checked by the mechanic who looked at the car for me and by the state inspection station and they were fine. i told the sears dude that i would think about it. he insisted the car was unsafe to drive and really started to pressure me in an arrogant way. now i am not a mechanic or even close but i decided to take a position hoping i was right. i refused the ball joints so he finally sighed and handed me the bill for the front end alignment. i asked him how they could have done a proper alignment if the ball joints were so loose and bad. he didnt have an answer and just sat there staring at me. i havent got a clue if you can do an alignment with bad ball joints or not. i refused to pay for the front end alignment on the grounds that they couldnt do it properly with bad ball joints and they should have advised me of this before doing the work. anyway after a long and heated debate and getting the store manager involved they tore up the invoice. i kept that car for another 5 years and when i sold it the ball joints were fine. eisboch .

last april when i got my new ram 2500 i had it set-up to mate with my fisher plow. last evening when i hooked up to plow i found that the main power connector truck side had failed on its second use. the cable end had not been crimped-in correctly and the hot wire had separated. as the connector is molded it was not repairable. the local dealer replaced the cable harness right away this morning and told me that fisher had issued a tsb on these connectors. according to the dealer the cable supplier had serious quality issues and fisher has changed to a new supplier. they are not notifying customers but are replacing the cable harness as they fail. and a lot have failed. now it can be a little inconvenient not being able to raise or tilt your plow. suggest that if you had an install done in the past year you check with the dealer to see if your cable harness was from the bad batch. woody; 95fxds .
